The Antidote

November 30th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

With a fresh perspective and a wealth of creativity, Antidote provides a cure for the common fashion magazine. Devised as an alternative to traditional fare, the magazine gives one photographer free range to interpret an editorial theme via a variety of photo stories. The inaugural issue tackles the topic of denim with a series of breathtaking shoots created by Thomas Lagrange and editor in chief Yann Weber, plus accompanying articles that detail the history and mythology of everyone’s favorite wardrobe staple.

Makeover Monster

November 29th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Another day, another tantalizing glimpse at Tom Ford‘s issue of Vogue Paris. This time around the editorial is shot by Mr. Ford himself and styled by none other than Carine Roitfeld. Considering the duo’s lengthy history of creating controversy inducing imagery together at Gucci, it is only natural that this story pushes a few buttons. Ford’s surgery-centric tale of a woman’s body modifications, looks eeriely similar to the classic Makeover Madness special from Vogue Italia, but with Crystal Renn in the starring role and an extra layer of sex added into the mix, it is just different enough to keep us interested.

mdc ♥’s : my beautiful dark twisted fantasy

November 23rd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

A weekly roundup of things we’re into

Time to start picking up those coffee table tomes, everyone knows they make great holiday gifts. One notable title has to be Taschen’s limited edition Pucci retrospective. Covered in the brand’s signature statement patterns and filled with historical details about founder, Emilio Pucci’s rise to prominence, this is a must have.

Jeff Koons + Kiehl’s and an excuse to stock up on body lotion – what is not to love about this? Plus all of the profits go to support The Koons Family Institute, an initiative of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

What list would be complete without Mr. West? Given that he is already hip hop’s most fashionable gentleman and a noted model appreciator we’ve always had a soft spot for Kanye. Critics are already calling his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy a masterpiece and with its boundary pushing songs it most definitely counts as required listening. Check it out on iTunes.
