Karma Chameleon

Myf Shepherd is on a roll! The breakout star shows just how versatile she is with a Vogue cover and a stellar editorial in Numero. For Vogue Australia Myf’s natural charm shines through as she models cool local label, Romance Was Born with a friendly girl next door grin on her face. For Numero Myf flips the script and goes in a wildly different direction playing a geisha girl for Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello, the transformation is astonishing and Myf all but disappears into the role.

Bits and Bytes: New London

May 29th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Dazed and Confused highlights their picks of the new crop of London boys in this video. Robbie Wadge (above pic), Daniel Hicks and former Model of the Weeks Isaac Carew and Gavin Jones all make an appearance. Just ignore the strange robotic voiceover.

More tidbits from the September Issue. And it’s juicy. This is one fashion documentary we cannot wait for.

FYI, Mango replaces Penelope Cruz with Scarlett Johansson. At least in this case it’s a celebrity replacing a celebrity and not taking the few bookings left from the poor models!

Check out this half Japanese, half Italian male model from Brazil; we love how diverse and gorgeous the Brazilians are.

More sad recession news. Following on the heels of Christian Lacroix filing for bankruptcy is reports of Veronique Branquinho folding her  line.

Maybe this will stay the heavy hand of the fashion retouchers (see Gwyneth Paltrow’s different jawlines in the link).

If you haven’t seen it already, Forbes has their list of new top earning models!

Miuccia Prada, the reluctant fashionista, gives her first interview in 3 years.

Frances Grill, founder of Click Models and discoverer of Uma Thurman and Whitney Houston, talks about her years in the business.

There’s a new rock-n-roll kid in town and Production is into him.

Check out the models and stars on Burberry’s night. See Helena Christensen, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Molly Sims.

Gisele Bundchen‘s in Versace for F/W 09. By Mario Testino. Against a wall. Again.

The Ones2Watch has 2 especially gorgeous newcomers: Moldova’s Xenia (just signed with IMG) and Rami from Argentina.

Vlada Roslyakova looks like something out of a fairytale but David Vasiljevic brings out her inner 80s baby for Numero Tokyo. The Valley Girl themed story showcases Vlada looking retro in big bows and short skirts. Victoria Adcocks sharp styling is so in tune with the 80s theme that you can almost hear the Madonna playing in the background.

Excuse Me Missy

May 28th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

The last issue of Mixte reminds us of why the magazine was essential in the first place. Covergirl Missy Rayder vamps for Xevi Muntane in a black and white series that revels in sensuality. With her dynamic poses and regal presence Missy is a natural when it comes to expressing this kind of haute sexiness.

There are blondes and then there’s Agyness Deyn and Luke Worrall. Two of the most recognizable faces of the Brit pack brighten up the new Uniqlo Sport campaign shot by photographer to watch, Daniel Jackson and styled by the ultra hip Nicola Formichetti. It’s easy to see why the 2 Brits are so popular; besides their effervescent energy shining through, they are just so darn gorgeous.

Baby Bump Watch: Is 2009 the year the VS Angels (both former and current) all have little darlings on the way? Heidi Klum seems to have started a trend; Adriana Lima is now pregnant, with rumors that Gisele Bundchen may also be expecting. The Imagist muses about the future of the men’s modeling market

One Management interviews photographer and film maker KT Auleta.

As all the major designers are now putting out resort lines, here’s a look at YSL’s on Sans Artifice.

C’mon fashion people. Times are tough but you don’t have it as tough as these guys. You can support a great cause as well as get some cool discounts/ freebies yourself.

Speaking of charities, MDC is helping to sponsor one! The event, for One Image Charity, is tomorrow and it helps raise awareness about children living on the streets in Haiti and the Philippines. Come by or bid on one of the beautiful images.
