Presenting itself as "A web of like minded individuals who through art, fashion and music celebrate the world's diversity"--Go Global is a collective launched out of Basel Switzerland in 1988. At that time several DJ's, designers and scene makers with the same vision merged and formed the Go Global Sound System. They set out to give those in search of all night dancing in a community of like minded peers, a place to converge. They proceeded to stage underground parties featuring a wide variety of music, mixing the boom from the DJ's turntables with the organic dexterity of live musicians. As the venues changed from warehouses to villas to boats, from Basel to New York, the crowds grew and Go Global evolved into the powerful social engine it is today .

Simultaneously, Go Global organized a fashion wing, in the form of a market convened in a garage that allowed young designers without stores to gain exposure as well as sales for their creations. What was then atypical marketing: an environment where DJ's provided the music, where alcohol and coffee bars were installed and designers were encouraged to be creative about designing their booths, evolved into the innovative multi-disciplinary ethos that has become so typical of the 90's. Correspondingly , the designers' work ranged from clothing to furniture to accessories.

Evidencing the prounounced Nienties drift of new cultural forces to New York City Go Global's highly touted parties continue on a monthly basis pulling in a multi-cultural cross section of the city's art, style and music tribes. The Go Global clothing line gathers impressive momentum as it begins to grace covers, layouts and editorials in publications like WWD, Sportswear International and Oneworld, even as it widens its cult following among stylists, editors clubgoers and celebreties like NIN's Trent Reznor, futurist Mank, hot pepper Anthony Keidis, and model Veronica Webb. Created and co-ordinated by flatmates Erica and Sacha, the designs capture the sleek spirit of our present times and mix a rugged urban essence with a futuristic thrust. Go Global are beatiful colorists. They crafting the coolest T-shirts on the scene right now -that airplane in departure of a logo is simply of the moment. The relaxed shapes of the line is bolstered by the impeccable sewing that is not a given in this market.

As the merchandise hits the streets via exploding store sales at Na-Na's, X-Large, Patricia Field's and Strange , even as the word of mouth of friends who subscribe to Go Global's pluralistic ideal spreads, a label for the 90's and the millennia beyond begins to make its unique and powerful impact.
