How did you become interested in modeling?
Modeling is what I love to do and I take it seriously. I take pride in everything I do. While being in Romania until I was 20 I had a chance to see the world by working on a cruise ship. I took the opportunity and went to Asia - Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand working as a casino dealer. It was definitely a life time experience that changed me a lot and made me more mature. So I enjoyed traveling, I enjoyed seeing new places and meeting people from all over the world. For almost six years I kept going back working on cruise ships - casino, restaurant and jewelry gift shops. That’s how I ended up seeing Europe, Asia, Americas and the Caribbean and having so many amazing experiences. But, doing that I always had my dream on my mind; being, or at least trying to become a successful model. I remember as a kid watching fashion shows and commercials, getting different magazines and admiring the models and getting to love more of that lifestyle.
So, I had the opportunity in August 2006 to come to the USA working at a private business club in Savannah, GA, but trying my best to follow my forever dream. Soon I want to ‘be there.’ The rising Romanian star in the USA.
What agencies have you been in contact through MODELS.com?
I have tried to contact as many agencies as possible to market myself. But, recently I have been in contact with Click Model Management - Atlanta.
What was your experience with them?
I am signed with Click just for a couple of months, but I will move to Florida in December and try to get signed with the best agencies there. It’s getting better and better.
What advice would you have for other aspiring models trying to get noticed by these agents?
You have to want to be a model. You really HAVE TO WANT IT. Modeling has ups and downs, but without perseverance it can’t be done. You have to have good pictures and show your face ‘out there’…first, you have to market yourself…and you HAVE TO SIGN WITH AN AGENCY if you want the real deal.
What do you do to keep in shape?
I think the sports I did in the past, gymnastics and judo, gave me a good body. You have to keep it in shape though and not stuff yourself with all the junk. I am not doing a lot, just staying in shape. I exercise 3-4 times a week. Remember, it’s your body (and mind), don’t waste it!!!
What type of face/grooming products do you use?
Really not much, just a regular face cream/body cream. I am lucky enough to have good skin, but these products, the good ones, definitely makes a difference. Makes you look more alive.
What is one thing a model cannot be without?
Remember, images or a pretty face and great body represent only 50% of what it takes to get signed by a reputable agency. 30% is your personality and 20% is how well you market yourself, your promptness and knowledge of the industry.
What is your favorite fashion magazine?
“GQ.”
Who is your favorite designer?
D&G, but there are so many fantastic designers that many people just dream to wear one of their designs. I am hoping to work with as many of them as possible!!
Who is your favorite model?
Wow!! There are some awesome models out there. I have to give credits to the first super models, Claudia Schiffer, Tyra Banks - still doing so much for the modeling world. Well, it would be a long list.
What is your favorite part about modeling?
Having a dream come true!!! Love meeting all the beautiful and talented people.
Who would you most like to model for?
I haven’t done any major campaigns, but I have watched and learned from the most experienced models and designers. I would love to do a Dolce & Gabanna campaign - it’s been one of my favorite brands ever. I’d also like to work for Armani, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Abercrombie & Fitch, Levis etc. “If you can dream, dream big. If you can dream it, you can do it.”
