Laurie Bartley

biography

Growing up with a camera from an early age, Laurie moved from Essex to London and began his career as an assistant. Initially interested in still life, he assisted Rankin before breaking out on his own with commissioned portraits for Dazed & Confused. His continued interest in detail and light have led to his development of lighting techniques more associated with film-making. His work has been exhibited in the Victoria & Albert museum in London and the International Center of Photography in New York City. His campaigns and editorials include Bergdorf Goodman, Vogue UK, Vogue China, Vogue Nippon, Vogue Russia, Covergirl, Dazed & Confused, Diesel, Elle US, GQ, Harpers Bazaar UK, L'Uomo Vogue, 'M' Le Monde, Max Factor, Numero, 10 and 10 Men.
