The Gift Of Life
OTM has been on hiatus and will return to a full schedule in the New Year (Jan 7th). As 2004 draws to a close and 2005 opens its chapters, this New Year's celebration is tinged with the shock and sadness that news of the South Asia tsunami disaster has triggered. As the casualties mount we can only pray that the worst is over. If you can in any way help, please contact any of these relief organizations for much needed donations. Colette (Heart) Commes des Garcons
Always open to adventurous co-branding ideas, Parisian boutique Colette and Comme des Garcons have since the summer been collaborating on various ambitious shows in a temporary art space owned by the Japanese label in Tokyo, Aoyama. Artists and designers such as Genevieve Gauckler, Tobias Wong, Ruri, Maarten Wetsema, Kuntzel+Deygas developed not only exhibitions for the space, but also limited edition products such as motorbike helmets, cutomized sneakers, bags and many other goodies sold exclusively at "Colette meets Comme des Garcons". Among the limited edition product galore, the sophisticated Dimitri from Paris ST Dupont DJ box certainly grabbed my attention. Just right to set fire on the dance floors of Shibuya. This coming week is your last chance to check out the space before it closes in 2005 to be replaced by a new and unveiled Comme des Garcons project. See it fast! www.colettemeetscommedesgarcons.com Posted by sebastien at 12:18 PM

Wild Style
While awaiting the opening of their state-of-the-art facility in the Lower East Side, the New Museum of Contemporary Art inaugurated this week an interim exhibition space on the ground floor of the Chelsea Art Museum. And they could not have started this collaboration better than with East Village USA, an exhibition paying tribute to the sprawling, renegade art scene that flourished in the East Village during the 1980s. On the spot a handful of artists at the origins of street art such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Futura 2000, Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf, but also the key sites and happenings symbolic of the rebellious neighborhood back then: Colab, Fashion Moda, FUN Gallery, the Real Estate Show, Club 57, the Mudd Club and the Pyramid. Mega Tronic
While Christmas shopping in Soho this December why not drop by Wooster Street and check out the supercool happenings of the AQUOS project. In an attempt to link their AQUOS LCD TV brand to the creative community, Sharp recently opened an interesting temporary gallery space, commissioning artists to create multi-media installations using their latest high-tech televisions. After blasting off with Codex 408 , Kenzo Minami's first solo exhibition, which explored the Voynish manuscript, (elected "The World's Most Mysterious Manuscript") , the AQUOS project now presents "Bloom" by New York-based Tronic Studio. Tronic's work ranges from Visionaire's coveted website to TV spots for MTV, as well as a 3D shoe-modeling for NikeLab, and an art installation for the Diesel Denim Gallery. Quite a resume! We'll be seeing you there. The AQUOS Project Bloom by Tronic Studio Curated by Sebastien of Formavision Nov 26 to Dec 23, 2004 137 Wooster Street - NY Open Wed. to Sun., 11am to 7pm Posted by sebastien at 06:02 PM
