Rie Rising
Since her performance in Femme Fatale has sent tongues...uhm.. wagging on our Industry Forums, OTM decided to play catch up with the newly blonde Rie Rasmussen this week. And rest assured, the rising actress is certainly maximizing her possibilities. Her fashion visibility continues into the S/S 03 season with campaigns for Moschino with Testino (who oversaw the blonde make-over), Blumarine with Tim Walker, Plein Sud with Steven Klein in addition to the H& M with Richard Avedon. "It's been really great that all the things I've been doing are the things I'm truly passionate about. It keeps it challenging" Rie confided while speeding her way to JFK. And the reason for the mad dash to Paris? A major tete-a-tete with Fifth Element maestro Luc Besson followed by a quick turn around back to NY where Rie snapped these Polaroids just to give the MDC faithful a glimpse of the new look. It's clear this girl won't stop! ...In other 1 Mgmt news Jamie surfaces on the D+G set, Daniela Urzi grabs the coveted Boss Fragrance campaign while newcomer Sveva lenses the Costume National. MDC Speed Scouting Bash
It was a golden opportunity for aspiring models to meet and mingle with those ever elusive NY power agents and the crowd that showed up to MDC's first ever speed scouting soiree certainly seized the opportunity. Agents from 1 Management, R&L, NY Models and McDonald Richards fielded questions and portfolios from the attendees. Sponsored by Matrix by L'Oreal the party held at Lot 61 drew not only the MDC modeling community but also a gaggle of photographers, make-up artist, fashion and hair stylists. Which makes the marketing guys here go hmmm. Speedscouting LA here we come! Posted by wayne at 10:03 AM

Naomi's Roc
Naomi/Women There's a new haute urban brand in town and it's the Jay Z/Damon Dash comandeered Roc A Wear line. The proof? Apparently its S/S 03 campaign is about to be headlined by none other than the legendary Naomi Campbell. Add David Yurman and D&G to Naomi's bounty and what you have is the kind of demographic broadcasting only a true supermodel could pull off...In other campaign news, IMG supermodel Angela Lindvall bagging the Jil Sander and Chloe campaigns, while her stable mate Jeisa is the new face of the See/Chloe line... It's a double score for actress Milla Jojovich who nails both DKNY and Donna Karan... Marilyn's Caroline Ribiero ups her profile landing the Cesare Pacotti campaign in addition to booking American Vogue... At Ford, dark horse Marianne Schroder bolts from the pack to log the Missoni (junior line), Hugo Boss, Gap and H&M campaigns... Finally, there's a new player on the Milan magazine scene with the new Mandadori book, Flair being set to hit the stands in Spring 03. Key photographers include Micheal Thompson, Patrick DeMarchelier, Mathias Vriens and Solve Sunsbo. Posted by wayne at 12:23 PM
Beautiful Music
Kim Peers/Vision 1 Management's Jamie Bouchet's been doing it with her post-80's music excursions even as she logs enviable fashion campaigns like the S/S 03 D&G. Burberry icon, Jolene Reynolds of Les Rythmes Digitales fame has her musical credentials locked in place. Now it looks like Vision's Kim Peers means business as she's currently hunkering down in New York to hammer out some serious negotiations on a record deal. (Note to the visionary music executive involved: any band brilliant enough to name itself Monkey Pussy deserves every penny being discussed.) Posted by wayne at 12:00 PM

Perilous!
Karolina Kurkova in the Pirelli calendar. / Ph.Bruce Weber It's out. And it's very much back to its old scanty antics. Pirelli, purveyors of one of the most brilliant publicity stunts in the fashion (or is that tire) business released the Bruce Weber lensed calendar this week. Weber delivers his requisite shots of barely dressed luminaries like Hedi Klum, Bridget Hall, Jessica Miller, Maria Carla and Isabeli mingling with a new crop of male models like MDC fave Jak Krauszer. And how maddening is it that the thing is not for sale to the general public. Clever foxes. Posted by wayne at 12:34 PM
Telma's Terrific!
Telma/Supreme In keepng with the S/S 03 seasonal sweep towards sexy, Supreme has a brilliant new breakout star in the form of Telma. Thus far she's logged D&G, Versus, Hugo Boss and the next Gap campaign in her win column, signaling that she is indeed one of those special faces to watch in the next six months...As the shoots for the S/S 03 campaigns come to conclusion it's clear that clients chose to invest in established stars, rather than gamble the house on completely new faces...the evidence, the giant season logged by 1 Mgmt's Eva Herzigova booking Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Alberta Feretti and Hugo Boss in addition to her upcoming Juergen Teller W story ...and of course there is IMG superstar Gisele having her most massive season ever, logging not only her customary gigs but apparently adding Balenciaga and Blackgama to her booty. With Versace going in its signature supermodel direction, Naomi Campbell grabbing a spot in the David Yurman campaign and YSL being highlighted by UTA's Christy, it's truly a season of classics. Of course Prada, that ever revolutionary house moves in a completely contrary direction holding Next's Elize Crombez as its signature girl. And don't you just love them for that? Scoop du jour
Christy Turlington / Calvin Klein ad The naughty tucking gathered right...there. The perverse color scheme. Those risque little buttons! Which model could possibly pull off the cinematic subtlety of Tom Ford's S/S 03 YSL line? Nearly every major girl in town has been holding Glen Luchford's YSL shoot but it looks like the final contender is none other than the legendary Christy Turlington. Christy? Those colors? Glen's lighting? Should be a moment! Posted by wayne at 01:27 PM
ANGELA ASCENDING
Angela Lindvall IMG / Paris Vogue cover When Angela Lindvall stepped away from the strobes to have her first baby, one of modeling's hottest campaign commodities was taken off the market. But for S/S 03 Angela is back in a major way and set to score some of the most coveted gigs in the business. With concurrent covers of Paris Vogue and Japanese Vogue running, and her editorial bookings going full tilt, look for Angela to reignite her phenomonal selling power in the better service of fashion. (Note to self: Must stop the repeat viewings of CQ)....In more IMG news, Variety reports that Victoria Secret icon Tyra Banks is set to executive produce and judge " Supermodel", a hour long reality show on UPN. The show will be following the rise of 8 ambitious newcomers hell bent on breaking into the modeling business. 'Supermodel' offers a twist on the reality genre and is a perfect fit for UPN and our audience," said Dawn Ostroff, UPN's president of entertainment. "The series combines the excitement of competition and the real-life drama of people pursuing their dreams." Oh the endless possibilties ! Posted by wayne at 01:11 PM
THE NEW NY GENERATION
Brigette/NY Model Management Continuing the theme of breaking faces, it's resurgence time at New York Model Management as a slew of new girls pile up the bookings. Top 50 face Letitia, in addition to scoring the Les Copains campaign, is also logging time on the set of Numero with Patrick Demarchelier as well as Japanese Vogue with Mert n Marcus. Newcomer Stam has Teen Vogue and German Vogue with Michel Comte(Only Girl) under her belt, while Julie Hhas shot V and Bazaar with David Sims. Then there is our beloved Brigette, booking the Roberto Cavalli campaign with Mario Testino while joining Stam and Julie H on the British Vogue set of Dusjan. Looks like somebody's been scouting their butts off! Posted by wayne at 12:55 PM
Fast Forward
Linda V/Elite and Nina/Marilyn At the rate with which models are flowing onto the market, it looks MOTW might have to evolve into Model Of The Day. Case in point? The whip appeal of these two MOTW candidates that hit our desks. First up is Nina Oord/ Marilyn whose celestial good looks caught our eyes. A follow through call later and it transpires that Nina is coming off a Jil Sander show exclusive in Milan, as well as a spread by Greg Kadel in Japanese Vogue. Calling from the set of Teen Vogue Nina said of her new found success "It's a little overwhelming and intimidating but still really fun." Also leaving the model booking editors speechless right this minute is Elite's Look Of The Year winner Linda V coming off a huge show season where she broke through as one of the ten new faces with the most runway mileage (more on those stats next week). While scheduling her MOTW slot came news that she just booked American Vogue. And as well she should! With a body this Gisele-esque it looks like Elite has landed a new booking powerhouse.
