What is it about a posh English miss that drives today's photographers mad? Is it the impeccable manners? Access to mommy's formidable Wardrobe? Or maybe it's being able to shoot on an ancestral estate without having to file for those tedious permits (since the ancestral estate is the model's humble home). In any case though the bidding in NY was ferocious, the charming teenaged beauty named Emily has landed at Vision. And of course, within seconds of touching ground in New York the phones have been ringing maniacally. We had her booked for MOTW, but why be coy? With bone structure and bearing like this, the minute is totally hers.

Carmen Kass in Harper's Bazaar
It's a sweep for Women on the Gucci set in Milan as superstar Carmen Kass converts her show exclusive into a campaign exclusive, even as the agency's hot newcomer Louise Pederson clinches the other coveted berth. With Mario Testino on the case and the clothes being some of the most risque in Gucci's recent history, our spies are buzzing that the proceedings should be quite titillating. Fingers crossed!

1 Management remains a magnetic destination for today's generation of established and emerging mannequins. Hot on the heels of their Eva Herzigova score comes two new additions. The first is V magazine favorite, Fanni. The second is Maybelline contract icon Josie Maran who jumps from the mighty UTA to the red hot boutique. In keeping with the agency's mission to platform the idea of multi-media talent Maran is also slated to appear in the next Hugh Jackman vehicle.

Casting directors who second guessed the thought of booking Women's Frankie Rayder last show season are kicking themselves right this minute . Why? As the early Spring 03 campaign news start to trickle in, it's looking like a major Frankie moment. With Givenchy under her belt, the sexy American beauty has also bagged a spot in the Chanel Collection campaign as well as landing the Celine campaign ...sharing a berth in Chanel Collection with Frankie is former MDC Cover Girl Maria Carla/DNA while Chanel Accessories is rounded out by DNA's Audrey Marnay... their agency mate Vogue/VH-1 Model Of The Year Karolina Kurkova adds Kors Collection to her bounty...And in the score of the season Natalia wraps up shooting her Calvin exclusive this weekend...Last season's Calvin Klein girl Jessica Miller/Next is the new face of Fendi....Stay tuned next week for even hotter scoops on the Spring 03 campaign season.

Meet Louise Pedersen, the red hot mannequin out of the Women stable who is fast looming as one of the most coveted new girls for the Spring 03 campaign and editorial season. She is coming off a sensational NY show run where she scored berths in Imitation Of Christ, DKNY, Marc by Marc, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein. Louise also, as they say at the booking table, killed in Milan when she opened Prada as well as nailing Miu-Miu, Gucci, Cavalli, Burberry and Max Mara. With momentum like that, it's fairly clear that a star is born!

She's a little bit rock n roll and even more than that, absolutely unique. For that reason, 1 Management's Jamie Bouchet is on fire, booking a great New York show season where she walked 18 shows. In between working on her own clothing line and singing with her band as well as being featured in an upcoming A&E special, Jamie has been piling up the shoots with Steven Klein, Solve Sunsbo, Carter Smith, Tom Munro, David Sims, David Armstrong (w. Carine Roitfeld) and Luis Sanchis for The Face, Self Service, Pop, ID, L'Uomo Vogue, Italian and French Vogue.
Looks like this former ballet dancer is a keeper!

By The Time We Get To Memphis


Brace yourself. The ultimate (and some would argue, the ugliest) 80's design moment, Memphis is back as a hot collectible among fashion's perverse "first adopters". But with a simple Ettore Sottsass light scone going for upwards of $600 and a Sottsass Tervas vase topping out at $2,600, the stuff is not exactly a bargain. Which is why Sottsass' limited edition calculator is such a sick little curio. Just the thing for working out those day rates, no? Get em before they're passe!

In more Women movement, rumors have been rife the powerhouse NY agency has been poised to go worldwide. For a change, a sweeping rumor in this business has indeed been based on fact. With the formidable addition of Alessandro Bazzani's revamp of the agency's global scouting structure and offices up and booking in Milan and Paris, it looks like Women is poised to become a major global player. Former MOTW Karin Men's Jak Krauszer is now officially one of the most wanted male models of the moment, shooting the Pirelli calender with such luminaries as Heidi Klum/IMG, Karolina Kurkova/DNA,and Natalia Vodionova/DNA. Adding to his cachet was his stints at the Imitation Of Christ, John Bartlett and Anna Sui FW02 NY shows where his clean cut aura made him a major stand-out. Think that's all hype? When Swiss stunner Tim uploaded his portfolio on MODELS.com, little did he know that three months later he would be placed with maverick NY agency Aire and breaking through as one the hottest new faces on the scene. From Women/Supreme, the face to watch was the exquisite Telma landing berths in Prada, Dell Aqua,Sander, Miu-Miu and Burberry ...Over at Vision, Quiana breaks through with bookings for Ralph Lauren, Badgley Mischka and Kenneth Cole, while 1 Managment's Biljana makes an interesting impact in her first ever New York season. Her agency mate,Rie Rasmussen emerges as a star with bookings for Marc Jacobs, Badgley Mischka, Diane Von Furstenberg, Imitation Of Christ, Oscar de la Renta, Catherine Malandrino, Anne Klein, Caroline Herrera, Zac Posen, Bill Blass, DKNY, Matthew Williamson and Jeremy Scott. In the Elite camp Linda V has exploded as one of the must have models of the minute. In the meantime, DNA's Natalia claims her throne as the hottest model of the moment, opening shows for Calvin, Ralph, BCBG, DKNY, Zac and Narciso.
