When it came to the beauty trend of the season, Simone Rocha presented a delicately feminine look that paired seamlessly within her world of restructured trench coats, maximalized lace, blooming florals and sheer gowns. Shown in the Southwark Cathedral in London, James Pecis evolved the girlish plait with saturated texture and tightly woven pigtails with sweaty baby hair stuck to the face. “Simone wanted it to feel very damp and brought into the face,” the Northern Cali hair stylist explains. “The two pigtails are supposed to feel a little utilitarian as the collection is inspired by a photographer who was taking pictures of field workers.” Using Oribe Maximista and Surfcomber to create the drenched, swampy look Pecis focused on youthfulness to play off of Rocha’s extravagantly twisted idea of a uniform. Makeup from Sam Bryant was either a fresh wash of pink to the lips or bolder blue-red lip.
