It’s been a landmark year for the transgender movement whether achievements were seen in politics, pop culture, or fashion. From Barack Obama being the first president to publicly say the word “transgender” in his State of the Union address January, to Caitlyn Jenner‘s big reveal on the cover of Vanity Fair, visibility and acceptance was on the forefront. Andreja Pejic relaunched her career after gender reassignment surgery and appeared on the runway of Giles’s Fall 2015 show then landed a cosmetic campaign for beauty line Make Up For Ever. Ever since Hari Nef became the first transgender woman signed with IMG, she’s gone on to walk the runways for Hood By Air and Adam Selman, appeared in Vogue, shot a campaign for & Other Stories, and landed a role for the successful hit Transparent. And there were the ones that led the way for current progress like Lea T & Ines Rau who landed campaigns with brands like Givenchy, Redken, Barneys New York, and Alexis Bittar.
