No one could compete with the models on the red carpet at the Met Gala last night, take a look at what the best dressed beauties wore as they attended the year’s biggest party.

LIU WEN in Zac Posen

While some partygoers ignored the evening’s dress code, others embraced fully and to great end. In minty Zac Posen Liu Wen captured the ladylike essence of James’ oeuvre. Actresses take note – this is how you wear a ball-gown.

ARIZONA MUSE in Ralph & Russo

Divine in a crimson gown fit for a princess, Arizona lives up to her name in every way.

KARLIE KLOSS in Oscar de la Renta

Glamorous in gilded brocade Karlie dazzles in Oscar de la Renta’s shimmering gown. With a flowing train and black leather gloves, Karlie’s look is dramatic, yet still in line with the retro Charles James look.

NAOMI CAMPBELL in Givenchy

Naomi can do no wrong in the red carpet and in Givenchy Haute Couture she absolutely sizzles! With strategically placed cutouts and just a touch of marabou Naomi brings some sex appeal to the Met’s demure gala.

GISELE BUNDCHEN in Balenciaga

Gisele in Balenciaga is always a win win.

KAROLINA KURKOVA in Marchesa

Karolina isn’t afraid to take risks and her larger than life printed Marchesa makes a sculptural statement. There is a lot going on in this look – pattern, shape, color – but it all comes together beautifully on Karolina.

JOURDAN DUNN TONI GARRN in Topshop

Topshop may not be the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of elegant gowns, but the high street powerhouse made quite a showing at last night’s gala. Toni & Jourdan looked exquisite in their custom pieces.

GEORGIA MAY JAGGER in Thierry Mugler

The new face of Mugler debuts a signature look from the line on the red carpet. Georgia May was a vision in black and white with a plunging neckline.

ADRIANA LIMA in Givenchy

Elegance with a touch of darkness! Everything looks incredible on Adriana, but this Givenchy look gave the evening a touch of gothic glam and stood out in sleek contrast to the sea of frills.

JOAN SMALLS in Vera Wang

A mention must be given to the evening’s premiere beauty moment, a bold purple lip on Joan Smalls.

Rhianna >>>>>>>>>> all these girls. She won the night easily.

  3. Cloe says:

@Vinciano this team with Naomi, Gisele and Adriana ahead is completely above Rihanna :)

Love Arizona Muse in Zac Posen but my favorite is Cara Delevinge.

  5. Fika says:

Fei Fei in Tory Burch was amazing as well. What a great colour and makeup and hair was on point.

  6. jake says:

for me karolina looks better than all others (who look great too) – she really knows how to make an impact on the carpet and turn up the drama

  7. John says:

Karen Elson was the best dressed of the night. She nailed the theme and looked GORGEOUS in her dress.

Liu Wen and Arizona Muse also looked fantastic.

Joan Smalls should not be on this list (or any other best dressed list, ever). I’m sorry, but she has terrible style.

Lily Donaldson should be on this list. She looked fantastic.

Overall, the MET this year was very disappointing. Almost no one (except for the people I mentioned above) stuck to the theme.

Arizona looks beyond amazing! Poor Karlie, it looks like she is wearing a curtain from brownstone on the Upper Eastside.

  10. John says:

Sorry, but where is Anja Rubik?!

  11. Nigel S. says:

Certainly a host of interesting fashion choices among a bevy of clear misses on the carpet.

Arizona Muse stole the evening on the model front and overall. Just flawless from head to hem. I’d crown her second of all the evening beauties, after Charlize – I just don’t know how she does it which makes it all the more stupendous.

Naomi oozes such sex appeal with minimal effort. Eternal confidence.

Adriana is rather spectacular these days – I have yet to place a finger on it.

  12. Eamon says:

    Rihanna, Cara, Liu!

  13. James Young says:

NO… NO….and No.. All these models took the Charles James theme to literally and did not incorporate there personal style. Top shop should never attempt to make Formal Wear again, they all look like Disney Princess.

  14. B says:

Arizona and Karolina for the win! Liu Wen lovely as well
