MEMORABLE MOMENT: Grocery shopping in Chanel was freaking amazing. It wasn’t just walking, we were literally shopping. I got gummy bears, I got a carpet, everything… I think over 300 products were made by Chanel exclusively for that, so that was super fun.

Backstage at Lanvin, Rihanna came back there and looked at me and in her beautiful accent said “you’re stunning” I was just looking at her with her great eyes, I was like are you kidding me?! She was like, no seriously. I was like, I’m gonna go, this was good. Thank you.

Paris is fun in general, just because I feel like the production is so well put together. Not that the other cities aren’t, it just becomes extravagant. I’m blown away sometimes when I’m walking in, like… I’m literally looking around and then I think “Wait! Do your job, walk.”

I had a friend from home with me actually, traveling in Milan and Paris. It was their first time in Europe, so that was awesome. I did the touristy things again and we also did local hangouts, that was fun. I’m from Canada; my original hometown is Edmonton, when I moved to Toronto I hadn’t seen my friends for a long while. Then I moved to New York and started modeling so my friend was thrown into this fashion world and was like “what are you doing!? She actually became a street style photographer!

Kate Grigorieva

HOMETOWN: Saint Petersburg, Russia
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Donna Karan, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Céline, Gucci, Versace

P1090223-2

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My favorite show for me was Donna Karan, this is my first show in New York and I opened the show. It was a beautiful collection that spoke to me with the way it emphasized femininity. The silk dresses showcased luxury and sensuality.

Zuzu Tadeushuk

HOMETOWN: New York
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Chanel & Alexander Wang

P1090067-2

MEMORABLE MOMENT: I was really lucky this fashion week to get two super exclusives; with Alexander Wang in New York and with Chanel in Paris. Wang was my first runway, and I was so nervous before the show, but when I finally got out there, time slowed and the next thing I knew I was floating off the other end of the catwalk, just beaming. So relieved and so happy. I had a bit of a shock when the cameramen jumped out around the corner with their flashing lights, but I couldn’t stop smiling. The Wang show got me hooked and I can’t wait for next season.

Emma Oak

HOMETOWN: Denmark
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Zadig & Voltaire, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Belstaff, Polo Ralph Lauren, iCB, Rodarte, Yigal Azrouël, Jill Stuart, Peter Som, BCBG Max Azria,

P1000728bw

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My most fabulous moment was definitely going crazy in the Chanel shopping market. Oh my god, that was insane! Doing rehearsals and seeing Charlotte just walking with the chainsaw that had the same chain from the Boy bag… that was major! You can’t top that, can you.. I brought home a few things for my sister, she’s a big Chanel fan.

Adesuwa Aighewi

HOMETOWN: Nigeria
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Rebecca Minkoff, DKNY, Karen Walker

P1000983

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My favorite moment, for me I think it’s the whole thing. I’ve wanted to do it for so long and I finally got to do it. I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true. I met a lot of cool girls. I’m not the kind of person who can pick one thing. I liked the whole thing even when there was one time during the blizzard when there were castings and it gave me so much anxiety. My roommates and I would go out for castings all day and then we’d come back and eat cookies and be like, “ah, man… fuck the snow…” But, I thought the whole thing was really cool and not even about being a model; the designers and stuff, it’s cool to see that you’re a part of their dream- that at one point in time all of these clothes were in someone’s imagination.

Iesha Hodges

HOMETOWN: Brooklyn, New York
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Moncler, Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My favorite moment all season, well all of them were special to me, but my most memorable would have to be walking the Marc Jacobs show. Basically, it was like a dream come true. I felt like I was walking and living in a dream. I’m so thankful that Katie Grand and Anita, that they chose me to be in the show. It’s a wonderful opportunity and I had a great time. It was beautiful, the clouds were super huge, the pastel colors and lilac and blue lights. I felt like I was walking into a dream.

Caroline Schurch

HOMETOWN: Lausanne, Switzerland
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Yves Saint Laurent, Antonio Berardi, Maison Martin Margiela, BCBG Max Azria, Louis Vuitton,

P1020009

MEMORABLE MOMENT: For me, it was working for Yves Saint Laurent, I’d been a huge fan of Hedi Slimane as a photographer and creative director – I’ve followed his diaries for so long. He’s an amazing designer and it’s been amazing to work for him, especially since I worked there as an exclusive. It was fun to see the whole process from the very beginning.

Cristina Piccone

HOMETOWN: Mexico
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Moncler, Carven, Emporio Armani, Bottega Veneta, Giles, Marc Jacobs

P1090062

MEMORABLE MOMENT: I was in the Bottega Veneta show and Anna Wintour was backstage. I was sitting on the floor with my scarf on my legs and it was the first time I was seeing her in person. During rehearsal, I was opening the show and the exit was really small. It was tight, so to go out you had to slide outside and start walking. During rehearsal I did it wrong. I was very nervous because I saw her and I knew a lot of important people would be sitting there, but when it was time for the show everything was good! It was impressive to see all of the people who were in the room.

Melanie Culley

HOMETOWN: Williston Park, New York
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Calvin Klein & Jil Sander

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My favorite moment this past fashion week was at my first show. It was Calvin Klein backstage and I lost my clothes. One of the dressers moved them, I got dressed for the show and I was wearing this brand new hand knit garment. I was looking around looking for my clothes and I looked near the entrance of the runway and I saw this gorgeous woman and it was Lupita Nyong’o! She looks like a doll in person. This was back in February so she wasn’t that famous yet. There was a little bit of buzz around her but nobody really knew who she was. I was like “oh my god that’s Lupita!” I completely forgot about my clothes and the dresser was like, “Okay, you’ve gotta take this off, we’ve gotta find your clothes…” We were both working, so to speak, I wanted to go up to her and get a picture, but we had to stay professional. Still, seeing her was the highlight of my fashion week – she’s absolutely perfect.

Elodia Prieto

HOMETOWN: France
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Hermès , Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli, Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, Dior, Nina Ricci, Jil Sander, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Fendi, Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Donna Karan, Theory, Hugo Boss, Derek Lam, Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra, Rag & Bone, Jason Wu

P1090203

MEMORABLE MOMENT: Every moment was memorable. I’m still a new girl so I have the innocence of the beginning. I’ve discovered the universe of the fashion houses, the work of the designers, their genius, their vision. But also the work of the stylists. I still have a lot to learn and the first moments are always very exciting which makes them memorable.

Maria Senko

HOMETOWN: Saint Petersburg, Russia
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: The Row, Jeremy Scott, Vivienne Westwood, DKNY, Dsquared2

P1060029

MEMORABLE MOMENT: This season I had the privilege to walk in Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label show in London. I have always respected her work and wanted to walk in the show. This season I finally felt strong and mature enough to do it. I think Vivienne noticed and confirmed me at last!

On the day of the show backstage the makeup artist needed final approval on the look from Vivienne herself. I was standing in front of her, and while she was carefully looking over my face I noticed she was holding a cup of cappuccino in her hand. She was looking looking, deep in thought..then she dipped her forefinger in the cup and took a top of the foam (this is the sweetest part of the cappuccino you know), and at once she licked it and smacked her lips! She then rubbed her finger on my cheeks to add a bit of pink to them. At that lovely and spontaneous moment I wanted to kiss her! I realized that I had found my ideal of a Real Woman – she is a strong powerful women without any complexes!

Dasha Denisenko

HOMETOWN: Russia
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Sacai, Céline, Calvin Klein, Rodarte, Tory Burch, Hugo Boss, Victoria Beckham

P1090155-3

MEMORABLE MOMENT: It was working with Victoria Beckham, because it was like the first big show that I was doing in New York. I just spent quite a lot of time there, and it was just nice and chill. After the fashion week she sent me a personal gift with a card and that was nice and really unexpected because she didn’t have to do it.

Maggie Jablonski

HOMETOWN: Knoxville, Tennessee
HIGHLIGHTS: Chanel, Maison Martin Margiela, Missoni, Tod’s, Moschino, Proenza Schouler, MBMJ, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang

P1090316

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My most memorable moment was definitely Chanel because I wanted the show so much. I have a goal show in every city and Chanel was easily my goal show in Paris. When I got the confirmation I was so happy, but I hadn’t told my good friend Emma Waldo that I had gotten it and she didn’t tell me that she got confirmed either. I was just sitting in hair and just so tired at 4:30AM and she comes up behind me and goes “I just saw your mom! You didn’t tell me you were going to be here!” Then I was like “you didn’t tell me you were going to be here either!” We were both so excited and it was just incredible to be a part of that show and experience it with a friend.

Kasia Jujeczka

HOMETOWN: Poland
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Dior, Valentino, Acne, Lanvin, Jil Sander, Marni, Giles, Calvin Klein

P1090432-4a

MEMORABLE MOMENT: It was my first season, so there were so many moments I could talk about. I think the most memorable for me was opening Dior Haute Couture since that was the first show I’d ever done and there were people I worked with there who I will never forget. There is another one though – doing the Prada show on my birthday! That was the best gift I could ever ask for and when I got back to my hotel I found a bouquet of tulips from my mother agency in Poland and my agency in Milan. It was a very nice gift after a long, eventful day.

Vasilisa Pavlova

HOMETOWN: Saint Petersburg, Russia
FW14 HIGHLIGHTS: Dior, Lanvin, Valentino, Dries van Noten, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Lacoste

vv

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My memorable moment was opening the Lacoste show because I didn’t know that I would be opening. I just found out backstage about an hour before the show – I’d never gotten to open that show before, especially a show that big with such a huge audience. That was really great – the whole New York fashion week for me was like that series SurvivorMan. Crossing all these snow mountains, dealing with the blizzard, the rain – it was a proper experience but we all survived!
