A Taste of Stella

Simon and Stella

On the eve of being deemed one of Time magazine’s most influential people, Stella McCartney took time out from her busy schedule to connect with her loyal clientele at Barney’s. The famously eco-friendly designer showed her F/W line to a select group of Stella loyalists and then chatted up Barney’s creative director, Simon Doonan during a lively Q&A. What issues weighed heavy on the enterprising designer’s mind? British bespoke tailor Tommy Nutter, the use of animal products in fashion, a possible menswear line and of course her love of the jumpsuit were all topics of conversation. Those lucky enough to get an audience with the designer were even able to pick her brain about her muses and inspirations. Best moment of the afternoon: hearing the Beatles play while Stella waxed poetic on fashion.
