Carlos Campos F/W 13

Honduran-born designer Carlos Campos has slowly and steadily been building a name for himself with his colorful new take on prep classics, and his Fall 2013 helped demonstrate the knack for tailoring and palette choice that made him a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist two years ago. There were several winning examples of clean outerwear in eye-catching colors, like Jacob Coupe’s cool navy trenchcoat and Guy Robinson’s tough leather jacket. Fernando Cabral’s anorak has a sleek leather trim, while Arthur Gosse’s belted coat popped with its sporty two tones of green. The suiting was slim and trim, with William Eustace’s contrast-lapel blazer serving as a special standout. The cyclist stencil on Douglas Neitzke’s bright-red pullover—a regular sight for any New York City inhabitant—was a playful twist, a reminder that Campos always puts his own spin on tradition.
