Wednesday was a busy day for Mark Vanderloo. OTM caught up with one of male modeling’s most iconic faces at the official launch for DKNY’s new fragrance DKNYMen and then later that night at the star studded party. (See interview, video and pictures below)

The scene at Bloomingdale’s was pure madness, Mark proved himself to be every bit the charmer as his fans (from distinguished men, stylish women and even a couple of babies) lined up for an autograph or photo.

The evening event hosted by Mark and Kelly Killoren Bensimon took place at the Hotel on Rivington’s deluxe penthouse duplex overlooking the lights of the city. The stars of some of TV’s hottest shows-Blake Lively, Becki Newton, Kim Raver and Eric Mabius helped Mark celebrate the launch. Also offering Mark congratulations were some of his fellow supermodels, Alex Lundqvist, Tyson Ballou and a whole slew of Wilhelmina’s finest.

OTM: Did you expect all of this today?
Mark Vanderloo: Bloomingdale’s (the store) looks beautiful, the set up looks great, everybody from Estee Lauder and DKNY has done an incredible job in promoting this. The ads, the fragrance itself, the bottle are all amazing so all I have to do is show up. I hope that people are going to love it!
OTM: Now you’ve been working with DKNY for a while now, is there any reason you can tell us what makes that brand special and why you love working with them?
MV: The thing with me for DKNY is that it’s so natural; it’s a perfect fit. I don’t have to pretend to “do” anything or pretend to be somebody else. I don’t have to act, I can just be myself. I’ve worked with the people for many years, the brand fits me very well. They style me as I would dress and now they even have a scent that smells like I would like to smell! The fragrance is cool, it’s energetic, it’s New York, it’s confident; it’s everything combined together. That’s perfect for me; so for me it’s always great for me to do anything with DKNY.
OTM: You’re a male model and a legend in the industry, what do you think keeps you going?
MV: One of the things is to be involved with projects like this. DKNYMen (the fragrance) is new but it fits the glove perfectly. It makes it very easy and comfortable for me to do and be part of this project and help develop it because it’s very close to myself. I think if it’s so effortless and everything works so wonderfully together, I can do this forever…
