TOM FORD JARDIN NOIR COLLECTION

Fragrance addicts rejoice, Tom Ford’s Jardin Noir collection is a perfume addict’s paradise. Meant to evoke the sensuality and dark side of typically innocent flowers the sophisticated set offers a new take on some familiar fragrance standards. Cafe Rose is a suitably intoxicating blend of coffee, incense and rose, Jonquille de Nuit is a naughty amber infused narcissus, Lys Fume a smoky, rum and mandarin heavy take on lily and Ombre de Hyacinth, a multifaceted mix of magnolia, pink pepper and benzoin. On their own each of the fragrances is stunning, but what could be more decadent than giving the entire set.

CHRIS WARE’S ‘BUILDING STORIES’

We all know the guy who still reads his comic book collection, and a graphic novel might be just the thing to help nudge him into more grown-up territory. Chris Ware is one of the foremost graphic novelists working today, and his new Building Stories— actually a collection of fourteen separate books of assorted dimensions—is lyrical and touching proof of the powerful possibilities of joining text with image.

HUGO PASSOS x MONOCLE MAGAZINE RACK

Help him keep his endless magazine collection in order with this elegant magazine rack from Monocle and British designer Hugo Passos. Made of a rich walnut, the design is meant to evoke memories of flipping through a treasured vinyl collection.

KRISVANASSCHE x EASTPAK BACKPACK

Over the past few seasons, Kris van Assche’s collaboration with Eastpak has produced some of our favorite bags, and their latest collection is no exception. Besides being practical (a smaller pouch inside can keep an iPad safe, for example), the vibrant red base adds an eye-catching note of contrast.
