For Taiwanese mega-brand Shiatzy Chen, East meets West isn’t just some seasonal trend, it is a full on philosophy that exemplifies the label’s current mood. Taking couture techniques and merging them with traditional Chinese craftsmanship is what Shiatzy Chen is all about and for S/S 13 that means elegant shapes, detailed embroidery and vivid color. Designger Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia’s delicate dresses with mandarin colors dominated the Shiatzy Chen runway, as did gauzy dresses in peacock prints and embellished kitten heels and suiting in shantung silk. All in all it was a delightfully upbeat and fittingly exquisite collection, brought to life by some of the finest models in the business.
