Many designers flaunt ideas about mystery women, but An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx of A.F. Vandevorst, took the concept to another level with their impressive fall showing. Looking to Joseph Beuys and his choreographer companion Pina Bausch as sources of inspiration, the duo crafted a collection heavy on strategic cuts, chunky knits and dazzling embroidery. Topped off with Stephen Jones’s felt fedoras and piles of scarves, the Vandevorst woman was almost completely concealed, but nothing could hide that exquisite craftsmanship.
