Michael Bastian’s Spring 2012 collection for Gant followed the Brady Bunch on their famous trip to Hawaii. The result was cheerfully kitschy, with watermelons and hippos on shorts for men and neon-colored lips and ’70s-style floral dresses for women. Pieces were easy and bright, charming and comfortable without looking too casual. It all felt very fun and fresh, an artfully effortless approach to dressing for a day on the beach.
