Giambattista Valli is known for creating the kind of refined clothes best suited for uberstylish women of taste. Take one look at his front row and you’ll find everyone from Elettra Wiedemann, to Misshapes star Leigh Lezark; young ladies with the personality and panache to pull off any look, particularly Valli’s brand of chic. For fall Valli stripped away the frills of previous collections and went for a streamlined selection of separates; a wise choice considering fashion’s current fascination with all things understated. Gilded evening looks provided just the right touch of drama; the final looks onJoan Smalls and Jac seem destined for the red carpet.
