‪”The look is modern, a lot more color and a very refreshing feel,” said Yigal Azrouel, when asked about the mood of his Spring collection, and refreshing is an especially apt description of Azrouel’s effervescent vision of warm weather dressing. Focusing on clean white looks punctuated with vivid bursts of color, Azrouel’s selection of lean dresses boasted an aerodynamic elegance through clean lines and fabrics that seemed to float around the model’s bodies as they moved. The season marked a series of firsts for Azrouel, among them his debut shoe collection, which featured sculptural heels in perilous heights. Accessories are a challenging category to move into, but for the enterprising designer it is all just another part of his evolution, “my past collaborations with Manolo were beautiful but doing my own thing completes the look in a way, it takes things to a new level and that is important for me and my customers.”‬
