2010 was the first year of Newfaces on MODELS.com. Over the past twelve months we have featured some great models, including newly minted top models Kirsi Pyrhonen (Daily Duo, February 18th) and Daphne Groeneveld (Model of the Week, January 12th). Here is a selection of other girls who have done particularly well:
Kristina Salinovic – Model of the Week, September 15th – A few weeks after being featured Kristina made an impressive debut at the S/S 11 shows, walking for Louis Vuitton, Ungaro, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Richard Nicoll.
Anais Mali – Model of the Week, August 17th – Anais had a spectacular season, walking for Missoni, Loewe, Jaeger, Giles Deacon, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, and also appeared in one of the editorials of the year – ‘Double Vision’ shot by Sølve Sundsbø in the December issue of Interview.
Janice S. – Daily Duo, July 2nd – Janice seemingly came out of nowhere and ended up walking at some of the top shows in Paris, including Miu Miu, Celine and Martin Margiela.
Basia S. – Daily Duo, June 14th – We knew it wouldn’t take long! Basia first popped up at the Valentino couture show (along with Mackenzie Drazan). She then went on to walk for Jil Sander, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Phillip Lim, etc, at the S/S 2011 shows.
Ilva Hetmann – Daily Duo, August 27th – Ilva’s first season included turns on the catwalk for Rick Owens, Marc Jacobs, Missoni and Cacharel.
Pauline Van der Cruysse – Model of the Week, April 12th – Since being featured Pauline has appeared in numerous editions of Vogue (Germany, China & Russia) and at the S/S 2011 shows walked for Prada, Marc Jacobs and Givenchy.
Alejandra Alonso – Daily Duo, March 8th – Alejandra proved versatile walking for Versace and Chanel, as well as working for Victoria’s Secret.
Saskia de Brauw – Daily Duo, July 7th – In London Saskia walked for Paul Smith and Matthew Williamson, and then, in Paris, the big one – Balenciaga.
Hanna Samokhina – Daily Duo, July 22nd – Hanna’s second season was a hit – a Calvin Klein exclusive, then Jil Sander, as well as Margaret Howell, Richard Nicoll, Christopher Kane and Jaeger in London.
Chloe Memisevic – Daily Duo, June 16th – The European shows were tough on tall girls, but for Chloe it didn’t matter so much – she had already made her mark in New York, walking for Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler.
Chrishell Stubbs – Model of the Week, February 16th – Campaigns for Benetton and Pinko followed Chrishell’s early 2010 feature, and then the big one – Ralph Lauren.
Ramona Chmura – Daily Duo, January 22nd – Apart from a cover of Italian Amica, Ramona was also seen on the catwalk for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Versace, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and Jil Sander.

Saskia de Brauw wasn’t a Balenciaga exclusive because she also walked Givenchy and is said to be appearing in their s/s 2011 campaign.
Also, Ramona Chmura didn’t walk most of the shows mentioned, but she did Gucci.

My favs are Basia and Hanna. Well, Basia especially, absolutely my fav here (if we exclude Kirsi – but I just talk about models in the pics).
PS and I’d like to mention Ramona too, in her own way a welcome surprise, I pretty like her…
