A self-confessed nerd, who spends long nights with his XBox (playing Halo) and/or watching classic movies on Netflix, Kern was discovered just over a year ago when some of his photographs found their way to Mike Stallings at U Models. At first unsure, we are delighted to report that Kern has embraced modelling wholeheartedly. With a look that is both endearingly cherubic (a fallen angel, perhaps?) as well as uber masculine, Kern has vast appeal. Still building a stellar book, Kern has now worked with Givenchy and Steven Klein. This kid, who is also skilled in the culinary department (often whipping up indulgent meals for friends and family) dreams of working for Marc Jacobs. And with his great personality and innate personal style, we won’t be surprised to see Kern turn up on any major runway.
