And yes, he’s another spectacular German model, but we are just spoiled for choice at the moment. Tim was discovered by a Modelwerk scout at a youth league football game after getting sent off by the referee for fighting – that’s one way to get noticed! Tim has now done a slew of work for Tommy Hilfiger online, and has just shot a tv commercial for German fashion label Tom Tailor. Fashion is one arena where Tim won’t be red carded – this kid is well and truly in the game.

Regarding the German thing:
German agencies just seem to be producing a lot of models with the right look right now. Maybe it is the strong German economy, I don’t know – but there is a strong media and fashion industry in Germany, and a lot of agencies, meaning there’s also a lot of models. There’s also stuff to do with visas – Germans can travel pretty easily to other countries, especially in the EU. But I’ve been doing this for 10 years, and there are always trends – there have been waves of Latvian models, Brazilians, Argentinians, Belgians, Dutch, Brits, Swedes, French, Americans, Canadians, Russians, South Africans, Ukrainians, Chinese, Australians, New Zealanders, Jamaicans, Dominicans. It is cyclical, like everything in this industry.
I don’t care where a model comes from, so long as they have potential. And I’m not going to discriminate against German models just because there are a lot of them ;-)
