SUPER NOVA If Testino can have V and Meisel can have Vogue Italia as their very own fashion plaything, then why can't Juergen Teller (in conspiracy with stylist Venetia Scott) have his editorial cake and shoot all the best stories too. Vastly improved from its disappointing "re-launched" issue, the latest edition of London based fashion titled "Nova" features some stunning work from Teller, including a collectors item cover feature on Storm's centerpiece Kate Moss. As an aside, it's certainly interesting to see Teller coming in at No 3. in LIST magazines' Top Ten ranking of fashion photographers' day rates. At $40,000 a day, he is exceeded only by Bruce Weber and Mario Testino (tied at $60,000 a day) and top dog Steven Meisel (at $60,000-$100,000) a day. For the rest of the Top Ten, we'll just have to encourage you to buy the magazine now won't we. Serge would like that.
MADE IN MILAN Word streaming
in from the recently concluded Men Shows in Milan indicate that Spring 2001's
best dressed man had best prep himself for a very "ambiguous gigolo"
moment. With more gold trimmings, fabulous scarves, bejeweled sandals, and
sexy silk outfits than practicality might suggest, it looks like Minimalism
is now a dirty word in men's fashion too. But since this is MODELS.com,
we are obliged to note the buzz around two young gentlemen, Lucas
and Renauld, the unofficial "boys-of-the-minute".
