Changing Of The Guard It's been rumored for a good year now that the directional designers of women's fashion were about to clean house and finally it happened this season. Coming off the Fall 2001 show season and segueing into the campaign sweeps, it is clear that a new model guard has arrived... The full picture on the Fall 2001 bookings are as follows... At the front of the pack are the two sensations of the season, IMG's Erin Wasson (see our lead item) and Next's Natasha V repeating Calvin Klein Collection with David Sims, (a feat not achieved since Kate Moss' reign), shooting Gucci (with Wasson, IMG newcomer Vicki Andren and Clear's JR) as well as confirming Lanvin ...MODELS.com fave, DNA's Karolina Kurkova continues to be a force repeating her Louis Vuitton and Celine bookings from last season... Also making a formidable showing is another former MODELS.com cover-icon, Anouck Lepere / IMG confirming Ungaro with Juergen Teller and shooting the extremely lucrative new Boss fragrance campaign. Another of our favorites, November Models.com cover-girl Amanda Moore has confirmed Strenesse with David Sims, YSL make-up with Matt & Marcus and Byblos with Miles Aldridge. CK shot by Mario Sorrenti has confirmed Tasha Tilberg/Next and Chloe/Vision as its headlining models. In the meantime, the CK Jeans campaign, shot by Steven Klein is holding DNA's Maria Carla and James Penfold and IMG's Ryan Curry for key slots... The ever unpredictable Prada continues to invest in new blood by holding Elite's Angie Schmidt as its new face, while selecting Ford's Valarie Sipp as this season's Miu-Miu girl. Tom Ford's and Steven Meisel's YSL campaign, probably the most coveted star-making vehicle right this minute, goes to former MODELS.com cover girl Liya K / IMG and former Model-Of-The-Week, Liliana D / Karin ...and yes, it is being styled by Paris Vogue editor Carine Rotfield. ...Interestingly enough, the ever controversial Versace is shaping up to be a multiple-girl campaign with Women's Nina H, DNA's Anna E and Inga, Ford's Delphine, Marilyn's Fernanda Tavares and IMG's Diane M, all holding slots with Meisel. The same is true for Versus, currently populated by Elite's Stephanie Stiles and Lorraine, DNA's Natalia, IMG's Amanda Brown, Karin's Jenny Molin and Chris Ackerman, Marilyn's Jolene, Boss' Omahyra and Next's Kae...Versace Jeans however is flagshipped solo by Ford's Delphine who has also confirmed Loewe along with Vision's Hannelore. ...Also flying solo, in this instance for for Chloe, is DNA's Kasia... But shed no tears for burgeoning legends like Gisele / IMG (booking Dolce y Gabbana), Karen Elson / Elite (slated for Dior and Joop ), Angela Lindvall / IMG (holding Chanel and Missoni), Kate Moss and Stella Tennant both with Women (repeating for Burberry with Testino) and Jacquetta Wheeler / IMG (D+G and Ferragamo). Stay tuned for the final edits of these bookings.

Maxxed Out Maxim magazine. Beer and Babes, right. Nothing that any self-respecting tastemaker would have on his first edition Jean Prouve table. Well think again. The premiere issue of the bi-annual Maxim Fashion begs a radical re-think of what you presume the Maxim brand to be. With fashion forward stories photographed by Steen Sunland, Alex Cayley, Satoshi Saikusa and David la Chapelle and a very eclectic eye in charge of the model casting, the magazine veers so far into the high end terrain, market leaders Details and Arena Homme Plus might be advised to take a glance over their shoulders. And there can never be too many outlets for male models right?
