Rodarte kicks things into high gear with their fall collection. Citing Terrence Malick’s influential film, Days of Heaven for a prairie and plains themed show filled with homespun charm. Mixing literal and arcane references within their designs, the sisters Mulleavy featured wheat field prints and nubby knits with geometric patterns. The muted color palette and clean cuts, hinted at a return to basics after several seasons of high concept excess. Of course fans of flourish will never find themselves disappointed at a Rodarte showing; a pair of sequined red skirts added a touch of playful girlishness into the mix, while sky high Kirkwoods embellished with tribal prints seem destined to become editorial favorites. All in all the show marked another in a long line of triumphs for two of America’s most influential young designers.

Those people in the first row are totally distracting me! I can’t even concentrate on the outfits! 😀 I find it much more interesting looking at their reaction& expression while they are checking out the models!
Andre Leon Talley has this great expression on his face where this pale model walks by him… he’s like: hmmm…not bad!
Anyway… I don’t like the collection… I don’t like the colors (except the red dress!) and the printing.
Wow, it looks so impressive, really something else! The cuts, the materials, it looks so unique, and yet so wearable, so classy! Feels like I’m looking at an old brand, but in a good way of course!

Yes, the entire Vogue team, as well as others in the audience were quite distracting (albeit funny)
Andre Leon Talley’s presence is so fierce that he is distracting me from the models and the clothes. LMAO!

I like the collection, but it almost seems that the shots were about the Vogue editors. I totally see myself there someday.

Where is Jourdan’s Photo?
I really enjoyed everything in the intricate patterns yet the dynamic display of elegantly simple draping and sharp tailoring. Sadly, the only outfit I did not enjoy was Karlie’s, she belonged in a gown.
