For Her First Met Gala Appearance, Ugbad Shined Bright

Few moments invoke the entire fairy tale experience quite like the Costume Institute’s annual Met Gala. For Top 50 model Ugbad, who made her first appearance this past Monday, the event was even more serendipitous as she paired with the designer who gave her an opening slot this past fashion week. Attired in a stunning metallic ombre sequined gown with a caged bodice, designed by the illustrious Prabal Gurung, Ugbad’s look was a masterful blend of contemporary fashion and modest elegance, respecting her values as a Muslim. With event preparation taking place at the iconic Plaza Hotel, it was the perfect uptown backdrop for the day’s busy proceedings. Styled by Raymond Gee and featuring bold beauty looks by Georgi Sandev and Edward Lampley, Sandev toyed with a bold shot of foil liner, adding a vibrant layer to Ugbad’s glam couture-level creation. This moment not only marked her gala debut but also affirmed her place as one of fashion’s sought-after faces. Shot by Kyleen James, Models.com went behind the scenes of this milestone to capture her fitting, getting ready, and being whisked away to a major red carpet moment.
