Ann Demeulemeester S/S 2012

Posted by Stephan Moskovic | September 29th, 2011

The gypsy spirit is alive and well in Ann Demeulemeester‘s collection for spring. Merging her darkly elegant ethos with a softer viewpoint, Demeulemeester crafted a take on bohemian luxe that was tough yet tender. Working with a diverse range of references, from the Patti Smith’s rock chic to nomadic desert drifters, Demeulemeester created a cohesive set of long silhouettes with precise details. Touches like fringe and transparent chiffon inserts made for richly textured creations, while the wide brim hats worn by models added a sense of mystery. These little extras were appreciated by the audience and the show’s stars, one catwalker even quipped that “these clothes are goddamn amazing.” We certainly share the sentiment.
