3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/Winter 2013
3.1 Phillip Lim 2013
What’s a biker girl to do? This season 3.1 Phillip Lim looks to the highways, imagining a wardrobe fit for the trend conscious girlfriend of a Harley riding bad boy. Though the collection Lim put forth looks nothing like what we’ve seen the ladies wear on Sons of Anarchy or even Easy Rider, the danger laced reference points left their mark on his seasonal look. What better way to spice up the preppy combination of salmon colored shorts and textured sweater, than to mix in a little toughness via a motorcycle jacket.
Adding a rough edge to the innate femininity of his womenswear designs, was what Lim was all about this time around. The diverse and distinctive cast of beauties looked just right in outfits that combined the best of both worlds: leather skirts peeking out beneath sweatshirts and plaid jackets lined with fur, cream vests that mimicked the lines of biker standards, yet were dainty enough to look sweet. Metallic knitwear paired with stovepipe pants to create a streamlined silhouette, short-sleeved jackets, baggy leather trousers, the incredible Alexis Bittar earrings topping it all off; it all combined to create a vision of easy going chic that is sure to resonate with Lim’s clientele, whether or not they’re ready to ride.

ONE shot in focus!
Billy Rood seriously needs to upgrade his eyes, or his lenses or something.
What a waste – runway after runway it is the same!
The black sweater dress here is awesome.
