At its best, Summer sun gives your skin a chance to re-juvenate. Drinking in all that glorious light, it has the chance to look healthy, taut and glowing. Be careful however, because taking care of your skin at any time is difficult enough but especially challenging in the summer months when the need to exfoliate is at an all time high. Trips to the beach and for that matter - just walking around the city during the day - allows for a lot of sun exposure, making exfoliating all the more necessary. Great scrubs like the milk, honey and almond scrub from Kheils with a loofah facial scrubbing pad from Botany Bay will help you to remove all that dead peeling skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Rinse thoroughly with cold water to close your pores, apply a generous amount of moisturizer before you go to bed and you're well on your way to achieving that summer glow.

We are all searching for that healthy glow induced by drenching ourselves in the rays of the sun. Unfortunately as many of you already know, the suns rays as glorious as they may feel can be harmful. UV rays can incite photo-aging. The Sun Protection Factor or SPF is a rating system based on the amount of time you can stay in the sun after you apply sunscreen before burning starts to occur. It is very important to apply suncreen before venturing out in the hot months ahead. I suggest higher SPF numbers for fairer complexions and lower SPF numbers for olive to dark tones.

Of course there's always the option of avoiding the sun all together.
Self tanners are one easy alternative. I've found that Aveda Sun Source gives a natural, healthy look. For self tanning on the go, Tommy Hilfiger not only outfits us with great gear he also provides "Portable Tan" from his brilliant new skin care line.
