Gucci Gucci

Alessandro Michele‘s vision for Gucci sets the world in the gritty cityscape of LA. Models are all in various states of transport, whether by train or foot, adorned in Michele’s first foray for the juggernaut brand. Shot by Glen Luchford, the retro looking visuals match nostalgia with modernity as background figures provide abrupt variation to designs  in the foreground. Again, the floral prints mixed with the staunch rigidity of industrialization drive home the point of dualities and fluidity between the runway and the street. See more of the images below.

Surrealist State

December 16th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

As the most talked about model of the moment, Kendall Jenner has been everywhere this year – including on the cover of Dazed & Confused, where she displayed an appealingly avant garde side in Ben Toms‘ eclectic cover shots styled by Robbie Spencer. The concept goes one step further with the release of Toms’ trippy accompanying film which sees the raven haired beauty posing in a variety of haute fashion looks accented by glossy makeup by Yadim (Art Partner) and Shon‘s larger than life hair styles. In keeping with Dazed’s tradition of outside the box content the film has a weird and wonderful style reminiscent of vintage video.

Miami Heat

March 17th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Vogue Paris hits the road again, exploring the fashion scene of South Florida with an all Miami issue featuring Cameron Russell on the front page. Shot by Mario Testino (Art Partner) the cover features Cameron sporting larger than life hair by Oribe and a smoky eye courtesy of Yadim (Art Partner) all while giving a look of pure power to the camera. With her classic good looks and smoldering sensuality Cameron calls to mind the classic supermodels, but it’s her world class intelligence that truly sets her apart as a cover subject.

A Silken Touch

March 12th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Exhibition‘s imaginative explorations of fashion staples have always made for a compelling reading and the latest edition with its focus on silk is especially appealing. Daniel Jackson is among the issue’s impressive lineup of contributors and his shots of Julia Nobis wearing little more than a few strategically placed scarves offer a break from the typical. Styled by Tiina Laakkonen (Streeters New York) with wet-look hair by Shon and blue body paint by Yadim (Art Partner), the portraits capture an otherworldly mood and showcase Julia at her best.  / See the full story on MAP

First Look : Blown Away

July 9th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Anyone who paid close attention to the collections can tell you about the season’s biggest trend – volume, but few can bring it to life the way V Magazine can. Sølve Sundsbø and Beat Bolliger take the larger than life proportions glimpsed on the runway and capture them in all their expansive glory on the back of Suvi Koponen. Luxe pieces from Giorgio ArmaniPradaDior and Chanel are showcased in glorious fashion and the explosive hair by Didier Malige works perfectly with the voluminous theme.
