Poly Power

August 21st, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

It’s never hard to find a good reason to write about Natasha Poly–whether it’s recapping a prolific career that sports endless covers and campaigns, or simply musing on the catwalk queen’s iconic power strut. So, if only to remind ourselves of her interminable dominance ever since 2004, it’s worth mentioning her latest haul for Autumn 2015. For the cover of the Vogue Paris‘ September issue, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the super radiates a wild, untamed beauty–courtesy of stylist Emmanuelle Alt and makeup artist Val Garland. Back in her homeland, Natasha fronts the latest issue of Vogue Russia. The look here is austere, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Olga Dunina, looking perfectly chic in lustrous leathers with a defining bold eye by Virginia Young. Besides these two top glossies–no sweat–Miss Poly can be seen in Michael Kors’ Fall 2015 campaign all polished and lensed by Mario Testino. Certainly she’s flexing a little Poly Power! But when is she not? Viva Natasha!

Nadja Now and Forever

October 17th, 2014 |Posted by models.com

Vogue Germany welcomes home one of the original supermodels Nadja Auermann with a solo story for their November 2014 issue. Nadja continues to wow us with Luigi & Iango capturing the icon in stunning portraits. The magazine cover is an obvious eye-grabber, with Nadja looking spectacular in a huge Prada coat, giving what can only be deemed as her best “do not mess with me” face. The inside edit is magnificent and captures the mature and intense allure of Nadja herself. With her beautiful blonde hair slicked back, the tough and industrial setting becomes the perfect backdrop for Nadja’s famously fierce and angular beauty. The lines and shapes of the background complement and frame Nadja, making for vivid photographs of an engaging and glamorous model. The title says it all: Nadja is “fortysomething and more stunning than ever.”

It is hard to think of a model more innately chic than Natasha Poly and when you look at her latest work it’s easy to see why the Russian beauty is fashion’s go-to girl for glamour. On Luigi & Iango slick cover for October’s Vogue Germany Natasha is a vision in smoky eyeshadow and nude lips by Virginia Young (London: D + V Management , New York: D + V Management). The seductive editorial showcases Natasha at her most alluring, especially when she’s wearing little more than a wide brimmed hat ad a come hither stare.

In the pages of Vogue Paris Natasha heads in a completely different direction via an enchanting story with her daughter Aleksandra. Shot by Mario Testino (Art Partner) and featuring two generations of Poly pretty the cover celebrates Natasha’s new chapter as muse & mother. Though it might be a little too early to pick the Prada opener of S/S 2035 we can already see where the adorable Aleksandra could easily follow in the footsteps of her model mom; she’s already landed a Vogue cover and a space in Testino’s star-studded towel series before even learning how to walk.
