The Elegant Universe

May 23rd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Though the Madonna / Katy Perry coverstory is sure to get the bulk of the attention, the most beautiful editorial in the latest V Magazine belongs to Nick Knight and Lady Amanda Harlech. In ‘The Elegant Universe’ Knight and Harlech utilize the best in Haute Couture to create a fantastical drama involving parallel dimensions, Mandelbrot‘s fractal geometry and Knight’s signature trippy visuals. Model (and mathematician) Alexia Wight is a striking presence in designs from Chanel, Dior and Atelier Versace, shifting in and out of focus as 2D and 3D converge.

For the covers of its annual Music Issue, V Magazine spotlights rising pop stars Lorde and the Haim sisters, but inside, we’ve got our eyes on talent of another kind. Embracing the original Supreme, Diana Ross, for 2014, photographer Daniel Sannwald (New York: Management + Artists, Paris: Management + Artists) nominates fresh face Ysaunny Brito to revamp the days of disco. Styled by Patti Wilson, Ysaunny takes a turn as the soulful legend in show-stopping looks from CarvenVersace, and Saint Laurent. The Bombshell Returns!

January 9th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Given that she’s already America’s favorite pinup, it was only a matter of time before Kate Upton branched out into cinema. Her first starring role is set for an April release, but Upton is already in full promo mode resurfacing on the cover of V Magazine‘s Denim issue with a cheeky set of images by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Sporting Nicola Formichetti designed Diesel and a knowing look, Kate looks every inch the bombshell. Added bonus – lift up the plastic on the frontcover and you’re treated to a shot of Upton in what else – a printed bikini.

Season to Season

November 15th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

The collections come to life in the pages of V Magazine with Sølve Sundsbø and Kacper Kasprzyk shooting resort and couture respectively. A good fashion story never goes out of style and V offers up two distinctive takes on dressing – with Beat Bolliger (Art Partner) styling a sleek resort selection using pieces from Bottega VenetaBurberry and Céline on Zlata Mangafic to create a fashion focused studio shoot with style. Tom Van Dorpe (Paris: Management + Artists, New York: Management + Artists) pulls out all the eveningwear stops with his couture selection, utilizing the best  of Valentino and Dior to great effect in Kasprzyk’s moody images, while Manon Leloup pulls off the couture looks perfectly. Take a look at both stories and a special video from the resort shoot.
