Bits & Bytes: Hommes Galore

March 16th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

26

Renaissance man Milan Vukmirovic shoots a multi model cover for the 2nd issue of L’Officiel Homme Italia.  We spot Clement Chabernaud, Jonathan Hubert, Oscar Spendrup, Marlon Teixeira, Max Motta, Linus Gustin William Eustace and more. Who’s your favorite?

———————————————————————————————————–

If you’re like everyone, obsessing over the Telephone video by Lady Gaga with Beyonce, here are the fashion credits by star stylist, Nicola Formichetti.

Madonna and Tyson Ballou by Steven Klein in Madge’s sunglasses that she helped design for Dolce & Gabbana.

Is Jonathan Leder the retro version of Terry Richardson? His pictures are a lot more innocent ...

The fashion industry helps out a Chile devastated by the earthquake. Celebrate St Patrick’s day and help a great cause with Paper’s Mickey Boardman, Narciso Rodriguez and Maria Cornejo.

Because we can never get enough of McQueen and his genius, here’s Jezebel’s take on the inspiration behind his last masterful show.

The amazing Paolo Roversi shoots Tilda Swinton for Pomellato.

Loving Vogue Curvy. First the video interview with Kate Dillon, now Lizzie Miller (by Seth Sabal), the model with the “tummy”, talks about her famous belly.

Living Legends

November 13th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Classics never go out of style, they simply get better with time – the same can be said of male modeling’s legendary faces. In the latest V Man, Josh Olins shoots Alex Lundqvist, Marcus Schenkenberg, Joel West, Brad Kroenig and Tyson Ballou, in the season’s strongest denim looks. The boys manage to look just as cool as the day they were signed, quite a feat in an industry obsessed with youth.

Bits and Bytes: Who is Fernando?

April 23rd, 2009 |Posted by Betty

fernando

Just who is this Brazilian beauty?

And from the Imagist (if you missed these stories): Tyson Ballou looking like the supermodel he is still; i-D magazine issue 300 is guaranteed to be multi covers again; Abbey Lee Kershaw in Gucci- the commercial (who by the way looks like she has the superpower of moving the wind, a la X-Men or Heroes)

We love illustrators! Check out the interview with Jed Root’s Jenny Mortsell (and the delightful Drew Barrymore pic).

Liya Kebede feels the Obama effect on fashion!

You could be the next Sean John face!

After 20 years shooting exclusively at Elle, Gilles Bensimon is at Redbook, and it looks very beautiful!

Naomi Campbell gets another award. We love the dual Naomi, sometimes the narcissistic diva, sometimes the selfless humanitarian.

Grazia digs up Madonna’s first photo shoot.

Curious for more pics on Jesus Luz? Click here and here.

A friendly reminder for all of you who work in the “biz”, this guy lost an advertising campaign because of Facebook and Twitter. Learn from this poor guy’s mistake.

Production thinks Stephanie Seymour‘s interview with Alber Elbaz is fabulous!

Don’t worry, young up and coming female models, Angela Missoni supports you!

OH NO, in very sad news…. makeup artist Louie Sibley (who worked with Dick Page, Pat McGrath) has passed away at the too soon age of 42.

Bits and Bytes: Viper Boys

April 21st, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Ash Stymest and Max. Ph: Richard Bush for Man About Town S/S 09

Production finds an old Linda Evangelista interview on Youtube.

Arena Homme + breaks down all the new IT boys, their backgrounds, their bands and who is the elder statesman. Click here to read about Ash, Cole, George, Josh and Luke.

Tatiana breaks it down for non industry people the 5 types of boyfriends that models have. See the American Vogue story with pros and cons for each type. LOL indeed.

Jezebel asks, Is fashion becoming more diverse thanks to Michelle Obama?

The Sartorialist pays a loving tribute to his father who passed away last week.

If you can’t get enough of Amber Valletta, Tyson Ballou and Ryan Snyder, click here to see more.

The funniest title of a blog post: “The horse wore Prada?”

The new Man about Town is finally “in town” in NYC and it’s chock full of stunning eds like this moody black and white story by Richard Bush titled Viper Boys. With a profile on Purple’s Olivier Zahm, a cover and pictorial on Kate’s main squeeze Jamie Hince, a YSL tribute editorial, and the best male models, old and new, it looks like this issue is once again a must buy.

Tyson on Top

April 9th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

There is a reason Tyson Ballou is the go to guy for Vogue. His ability to go from rakishly handsome partner in crime to a gold tooth enhanced, fringe wearing bad guy, only verifies why more than a decade later, he still remains one of the most requested models in the world. In this Vogue Italia/Steven Klein shoot with Amber Valletta, Tyson shows his dark side and Amber is powerless to resist. Even with the gold tooth and cowboy fringe Tyson radiates sexuality and power.

The Men of Hercules

September 19th, 2008 |Posted by Betty

Herculean men indeed! You have your original male supermodel Mr. Marcus Schenkenberg, current top models Tyson Ballou and Andres Segura and up and comer Terron Wood. The mysterious man in the shades? We suspect it might be Marlon Teixeira, former MOTW who is the new man of the hour. As they say, “You better WORK!”

A Thin Line

September 16th, 2008 |Posted by Janelle

Linda Evangelista and Tyson Ballou steam up the latest issue of W – the stunning duo crisscross the line between affection and anger as a pair of volatile lovers in Steven Klein’s War of the Roses inspired Love/Hate editorial. The eternally magnetic Evangelista displays her chameleonic abilities in a series of wigs while Ballou sports eye patch and a series of risqué ensembles.
