Back to Basics

February 14th, 2012 |Posted by Betty

The latest L’Officiel Hommes Italia, the second under new EIC, Pablo Arroyo, brings models back to the cover and we’re not complaining, especially when it’s someone as iconic as male modeling mainstay Werner Schreyer (wearing Dior Homme) as photographed by Tomo Brejc and styled by fashion director of L’OHI, Emil Rebek. Actor Max Irons along with Tyson Ballou, Andre Feulner, David Kammenos and Bastiaan Van Gaalen round out the cast of the new issue, hitting the stands this week.

Behind the Campaign : Givenchy

July 15th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Campaign season is in full swing and while everyone loves the finished products – and the continuous stream of database updates on the subject, it is always nice to see the process that goes into each ad. We’d previously posted a glimpse at Givenchy‘s growling and howling F/W extravaganza, but take a look at the shoot itself. Veteran models Kristen McMenamy, Naomi Campbell and Mariacarla Boscono join relative newcomers Jonathan Marquez and Rob Evans in the Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott helmed images and the making of images add another layer of enjoyment.

That Face

July 9th, 2010 |Posted by contributor

In the current Details, Tyson Ballou shows why he remains, more than a decade later, still one of the most requested faces of today. Photographer Anthony Maule and stylist Julie Ragolia kept the concept simple and true to highlight the latest in cold weather fashion, ranging from blazers/sweaters and ankle boots, to a cozy coat by Dior Homme. What pulled it all together? Edward Kim‘s casting of that near iconic face and body. Fall clothes (and Mr. Ballou himself) have never looked so good. Bits & Bytes: Hommes Galore

March 16th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Renaissance man Milan Vukmirovic shoots a multi model cover for the 2nd issue of L’Officiel Homme Italia.  We spot Clement Chabernaud, Jonathan Hubert, Oscar Spendrup, Marlon Teixeira, Max Motta, Linus Gustin William Eustace and more. Who’s your favorite?

If you’re like everyone, obsessing over the Telephone video by Lady Gaga with Beyonce, here are the fashion credits by star stylist, Nicola Formichetti.

Madonna and Tyson Ballou by Steven Klein in Madge’s sunglasses that she helped design for Dolce & Gabbana.

Is Jonathan Leder the retro version of Terry Richardson? His pictures are a lot more innocent ...

The fashion industry helps out a Chile devastated by the earthquake. Celebrate St Patrick’s day and help a great cause with Paper’s Mickey Boardman, Narciso Rodriguez and Maria Cornejo.

Because we can never get enough of McQueen and his genius, here’s Jezebel’s take on the inspiration behind his last masterful show.

The amazing Paolo Roversi shoots Tilda Swinton for Pomellato.

Loving Vogue Curvy. First the video interview with Kate Dillon, now Lizzie Miller (by Seth Sabal), the model with the “tummy”, talks about her famous belly.

Living Legends

November 13th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Classics never go out of style, they simply get better with time – the same can be said of male modeling’s legendary faces. In the latest V Man, Josh Olins shoots Alex Lundqvist, Marcus Schenkenberg, Joel West, Brad Kroenig and Tyson Ballou, in the season’s strongest denim looks. The boys manage to look just as cool as the day they were signed, quite a feat in an industry obsessed with youth.
