Campaign season is in full swing and the brands are rolling out campaigns heavy on the star power. From top tier models to Hollywood royalty, the season’s stars are bigger and brighter than ever.

SAINT LAURENT

Hedi Slimane and Freja Beha Erichsen is a match made in heaven. Who better to embody the rock n’roll obsessed designer’s laid back vision for Saint Laurent than fashion’s queen of cool. No wonder she’s fronting the line’s permanent collection, a seasonless set of bestsellers guaranteed to be around for years. Sporting the androgynous wardrobe of skinny pants and leather jackets designed by Slimane, Freja looks every inch the rockstar.

DONNA KARAN

The erotic undercurrent of Karan’s urbane fall collection is brought to the forefront in steamy ads starring the dream team of Catherine McNeil and Andres Velencoso Segura. The images depicting an encounter between artist and muse were shot by Mikael Jansson and the campaign’s sumptuous, cinematic feel that leaves us hoping there will be an accompanying film.

CHANEL

From the moment Chanel staged a show in Linlithgow, Tilda Swinton seemed like the obvious choice for the campaign. The Scottish actress wears Lagerfeld’s highland inspired collection with flair and provides yet another fashion moment for the record books.

Leave it to David Bowie to return to pop culture with a project that blazes across music, fashion, and film. Directed by filmmaker Floria Sigismondi (The Runaways, 2010), Bowie’s fashion-film-meets-music-video for “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)” is a surreal visual feast. Accompanying the latest track off the glam rock icon’s imminent 24th studio album, the film is equal parts Fellini imitation and David Lynch devotion, twisting a wild narrative around tabloids, domesticity, and androgyny. Tilda Swinton lends her acting chops playing Bowie’s wife as Saskia de Brauw and Andrej Pejic‘s deviant celebrity couple invades their lives. Iselin Steiro, rounding out the film’s trio of top models, gets the glammest gig of all playing a young Bowie–the two even lip the words together! As the king of the artist collaboration Marc Jacobs has been able to pull in some real heavy hitters over the years to work with Louis Vuitton. Who can forget the mega-brand’s collaborations with Richard Prince, Julie Verhoeven and perhaps most famously, Takashi Murakami. Previous collabos aside, LV may have outdone itself with their collection created with Japanese art legend, Yayoi Kusama. Each piece is covered in Kusama’s signature psychedelic dot prints, but boasts a very LV take on chic. Dazed & Confused features the collection in a story by Leigh Johnson, featuring Tilda Lindstam. The shoot styled by Karen Langley captures Tilda’s innate cool and the appealing wearability of the designs.
