Boss Lady

December 17th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

When Abbey Lee sauntered down the BOSS runway this season it marked a triumphant return. The Aussie beauty has been busily building her acting resume with parts opposite Tom Hardy and Gerard Butler, but rest assured that she hasn’t forgotten how to work it. Jason Wu is known for creating supermodel moments so naturally he tapped Abbey for BOSS’ latest campaign. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with styling by Joe McKenna (Art Partner) the minimalistic campaign is all about attitude and exquisitely tailored clothing. “No extraneous graphics, no set. It’s about the very essence of the woman and the man,” states Artistic Director Jason Wu of the beautiful new images. Stephen Galloways choreography adds grace to Abbey Lee’s poses, while classical violinist & model Charlie Siem (London: Storm Model Management, Paris: Success Models) serves as the campaign’s elegant male lead.

First Look: Russh

May 31st, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

The new issue of Russh is focused on beauty and it is evident right from the start; with Jourdan Dunn channeling Sade circa Smooth Operator on Benny Horne‘s sleek cover it is hard not to think about all things glamorous. Rather than simply listing cosmetic tips, Russh attempt to explore the issue from all sides, asking what constitutes modern beauty and why our society is intrinsically fascinated with the concept. Naturally, there is plenty of eye-candy to enjoy – from Marte Mei van Haaster shooting a revealing artistic story, to Daniella Rech‘s exploration of clean, fresh scrubbed faces, this edition is filled with a chic, feminine take on what’s gorgeous now.

Storm’s Rainbow

November 22nd, 2011 |Posted by Betty

Storm Model Management‘s most iconic faces (including Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Eva Herzigova, Carla Bruni and the new generation like Lily Cole, Emma Watson, Liberty Ross and Jourdan Dunn) personally sign covers to benefit The Rainbow Trust charity. Founded 25 years ago, Rainbow provides support to families with terminally ill children.

Liberty tells us: “Rainbow is an amazing children’s charity and completely self funded. They help so many families during terrible times. Everyone should check the covers out, they could make a great Christmas gift, as well as supporting one of the most worthwhile causes.”

Liberty’s cover

One of our favorites? Jourdan Dunn‘s oh so precise signature on her i-D portrait. To check out the rest of the covers go to Facebook now. Bidding starts on eBay November 23 for 10 days only.

Bits and Bytes: The Mystery Man

August 11th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

chrisduffy
The mysterious young man in the Just Cavalli ads with Kate Moss is none other than FM Agency‘s Chris Duffy. Though, used mainly here as a foil to Miss Moss’ larger than life presence, we feel this young British lad will be shining on his own in the coming months.

While our Ones2Watch section always has extraordinary new faces, today’s deserves a special mention. The Romanian Raisa and the German Daniel are most definitely ones to watch for the upcoming season.

Mario Testino and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, nuff said.

We love models that do a little something “extra.

In other Kate Moss news… if you haven’t already heard… Storm Model Management, her London agency, joins forces with Simon Fuller of American Idol fame.

If you look like Jamie Dornan, a tall drink of water if there ever was one, and live in Europe, you too could possibly be in the next Calvin Klein ads.

Did you know former Paris Vogue editor in chief Joan Juliet Buck was a child actor? We didn’t either.. She returns to the screen with Meryl Streep in Julie and Julia.

Bruce Weber fan? Check out the Sundance website for Bruce’s films and photos.

History Lesson: Ray Petri, one of the most influential stylists EVER, inspired a whole generation.

When artists become photographers, this is what happens… weirdly beautiful Matrix-y like images...

Jourdan is IT!

November 26th, 2008 |Posted by Betty

Jourdan Dunn‘s Model of the Year accolades at the British Fashion Awards is a fantastic coup for the London beauty and her mother agency Storm Model Management. Ms Dunn beat out top English stars Agyness Deyn and Lily Donaldson but what made the victory even more stunning? Her top modeling accomplishments happened within the space of 4 months. Starting with the star making Meisel lensed July Vogue Italia cover followed in quick succession by 4 other covers, appearances in Gap/Benetton/Topshop campaigns and countless editorials, Jourdan’s moment has clearly arrived.
