Sharper Imagery

December 5th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Stockholm S/S/A/W Magazine kicks their latest issue off right with a stark and striking story by Kai Z Feng, styled in minimalist perfection by Tom Van Dorpe (Paris: Management + Artists, New York: Management + Artists). When you’ve got glorious black and white, two incredible models and some of the best clothes of the season – what more do you need really? Meghan Collison and Sara Blomqvist add a dose of sleek glamour, but just a touch – the power of this story lies in its effortless simplicity.

The Look of Julia Hetta

November 6th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

One of the most interesting photographers to catch our eye of late is talented Swede, Julia Hetta. With work appearing in influential indie glossies like Acne Paper, Dazed & Confused, Bon Magazine and Another Magazine, Hetta is most certainly making waves within the industry and taking a look at her images it is easy to see why. Her dynamic portraiture owes a great deal to classic paintings and sculpture, yet it feels refreshing. Using dramatic lighting, stark contrasts and the occasional well used prop, Hetta creates an unmistakable atmosphere within her imagery. Take a look at some our favorite Hetta images past and present and for more be sure to check out her website, Julia Hetta.com.

The stark yet elegant shots of Aline WeberNimue SmitShu Pei and Hailey Clauson are haunting and beautiful – not to mention a nice change from all the over-saturated colors we’ve been seeing on covers lately.
