Farm Fresh

October 21st, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Is there anyone more suited to the classic British getaway editorial than Stella Tennant? She just looks right at home in tweed and a pair of Wellington boots, no wonder she remains the go to girl for such stories. Case in point Vogue‘s latest tribute to travel shot by David Sims and styled by Grace Coddington featuring Stella roughing it in Fair Isle sweaters and woolen skirts. Were guessing that the average sheep herder doesn’t wear Galliano while tending to their flock, but the in the surreal world of fashion it manages to look just right.

The Joe Show

October 6th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

When you ask stylists who they cite as an inspiration there is one name that always comes up; Joe McKenna, the inimitable force behind iconic editorials and campaigns finally gets his due via a very special edition of Self Service where he takes the reigns as guest editor. From the laid back cool cover by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, featuring Stella Tennant dressed in the casual style of Joe himself, to the promise of a special retrospective of his most enduring images, this issue is a must have for fans of Joe’s work and anyone who appreciates the allure of enduring cool.

V Magazine pays tribute to the original cool girl, Stella Tennant with a David Sims portfolio of Stella looking as quirky and aristocratic as ever. The veteran supermodel is still as fascinating as the day she debuted and Sims’ black and white shots give her every opportunity to show her personality and versatility. Beat Bolliger‘s always impressive styling shines yet again, check out the backwards Vuitton dress in the first shot!

Royal Flush

March 10th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Tim Walker‘s portraits are always fantastical, but he has really pulled out all the stops for the latest Vogue Italia. Walker’s haunting ‘Lady Grey’ editorial stars Stella Tennant and Imogen Morris-Clarke as couture clad royalty, but the real highlight is Jacob K‘s impeccable styling: his mix of one of  kind pieces looks completely authentic and goes perfectly with Walker’s dreamy style.

Most Unexpected

August 27th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Summer is over. The always highly anticipated September Vogue Italia cover appears early with Sasha Pivovarova and Ash Stymest and catapults us into fall. Steven Meisel vibrantly captures the duo as contemporary urchins and delivers a frisson of energy and urgency to the season. Mark that 5 VI covers for Sasha and her hypnotic presence and Ash’s 1st for VI and 8th cover overall in just over a year.
