Orange Crush

April 14th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

There is only one color that matters in Jem Mitchell‘s striking new Vogue China story, but what a color it is. Juicy, pop off the page orange features in every look, covering Shu Pei Qin from head to toe and even giving her a fiery new coif for good measure. Jeanine Lobell paints Shu Pei in citrusy shades while Neil Moodie (New York: D + V Management, London: D + V Management ) provides the aforementioned neon tresses. Mitchell’s saturated imagery takes you up close capturing each look in all it’s vivid beauty.

Easy Breezy

Lachlan Bailey puts us in the mood for summer with an engaging story for Vogue China. Styled by Melanie Huynh and featuring pieces from Givenchy, Dior and Balenciaga, the editorial takes high end looks and gives them a casual spin. Shu Pei and Hailey Clauson wear the looks perfectly and turn the sidewalks into runways: both girls look completely at ease as the wind whips through their hair.

Platinum Plus

March 11th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Sølve Sundsbø is known for his surreal photographs so it is no surprise to see him bring a touch of the otherworldly to Vogue China. Enlisting platinum blondes Melissa Tammerijn and Shu Pei for an off kilter story styled by Marie Chaix, Sundsbø showcases a wild clash of color, texture and pattern. Melissa and Shu strike languid poses and look elegantly undone in strong looks by Proenza Shouler and Prada enhanced by Lisa Houghton‘s shimmering makeup; the individual elements of the story combine to create an edit that is truly beautiful.

Added bonus, the Clarisonic features a body brush that can be used to exfoliate areas like décolleté, elbows and knees, for runway ready skin all over.

Campaign Trail

January 3rd, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Who doesn’t love a good campaign? Spring ads keep coming in and this season’s take on brand imagery is looking quite nice. Tom Ford offers up a 70s inspired treat featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw wearing his signature oversized shades and pieces from his heavily hyped collection. Meanwhile, Roberto Cavalli gives us Laetitia Casta and Malgosia Bela looking stunning in scales and fringe; the Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott images are light and girly. Vera Wang’s vision for spring includes the radiant Shu Pei, whose unique beauty and poise in front of the camera work perfectly with Wang’s romantic aesthetic.
