Chelsea Girls

February 25th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

V58 is coming… With the issue set to drop in days and anticipation riding high MDC gives you another tantalizing preview. Sebastian Faena continues to look to the past for source material, this time with Constance Jablonski channeling the look of Kim Novak in a retro themed editorial shot at New York’s own Chelsea Hotel. WIth her platinum bouffant, liquid liner and cigarette in hand Constance is looking very good girl gone bad. The ‘Lady Lust’ story features appearances by Sessilee Lopez, Eniko Mihalik, Fernanda Tavares and Joshua Walter and is certain to be an editorial to remember.

True Colors

February 18th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Allure knows beauty. This month Mario Testino takes two of the season’s most coveted (and stunning) faces – Sessilee Lopez and Edita Vilkeviciute and showcases their radiant beauty. Wearing softly colorful looks crafted by makeup artist Tom Pecheux both girls look glowing, fresh and ready for spring. The contrast between Sessilee’s edgy high fashion allure and Edita’s pristine prettiness makes for a truly memorable pairing.

Form & Function

January 8th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Vogue Italia‘s agenda for 09 is simple – innovate, influence and inspire. Steven Meisel’s elegantly minimalist editorial ‘Form Function’ pairs the seasons most inventive silhouettes with the groundbreaking architecture of Zaha Hadid. While the model selection may be pristine – cover girls Anna Selezneva, Viktoriya Sosonkina and Anna Jagodzinska are magnetic, while Natasha Poly, Sessilee Lopez, Kinga Rajzak, Nimue Smit & Karlie Kloss all look stunning within the editorial – the story is truly about clothing as an artform. The juxtaposition between the lines of a Chloe dress and the curved panels of Hadid’s Chanel Mobile art pavilion shows us that impressive design knows no boundaries.

For One, For All

January 5th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

The year was 1994 and the concept was simple – a perfume for everyone. A simple singular scent that could transcend age and gender and stand out as not just a perfume but as a pop culture moment in and of itself. For anyone who survived the mid 90s, the phrase CK One instantly conjures memories. The stripped down, black and white Meisel campaign is legendary in and of itself. Its eclectic model selection and insouciant vibe represented everything that was cool about the Gen X era.

Fast forward to the present day and the new faces of CK One are every bit as effortlessly appealing. Three generations of models join forces and everyone gets in on the action, Christina Kruse, Jamie Strachan, Coco Rocha, Jamie Burke, Cameron Russell, Sessilee Lopez, Travone Hill and Guinevere Van Seenus are all featured within the all star cast. With the buzzworthy tagline “we are one” tying it all together, we feel the beginnings of another landmark moment.
