Pop Couture

August 25th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Numéro finds itself in a mod-mood for September with 5 graphic covers shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Utilizing a black and white patterned backdrop and a series of swingy looks from the latest collections, Lagerfeld creates a sixties mood on modern girls Sasha Luss,Lexi Boling and Maartje Verhoef. The streamlined pieces from Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, Armani Prive, Valentino and of course Chanel showcase a youthful and carefree side of couture – still elegant but completely in line with the way modern women dress.

Psychedelic Versailles

June 12th, 2014 |Posted by Matthew

For their latest fragrance commercial, Dior continues its collaboration with some of the hottest names in the film industry. Following Sofia Coppola and Natalie Portman’s girlish videos for the Miss Dior fragrance, the storied French fashion house tapped indie visionary Harmony Korine, of Kids (1995) and Spring Breakers (2013) fame, to shoot campaign star Sasha Luss in a hypnotic promo for the brand styled by Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele. The clip, at just over a minute, combines found-footage aesthetics, digital animations, and a sampling from South African rap duo Die Antwoord to conjure a psychedelic scene. Sasha, barefoot in Raf Simons’ Spring ‘14 couture collection, revels like Alice in Wonderland lost at Versailles, striking a winning balance for the brand’s fresh yet classic look.

Mystical Season

January 30th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

The artistry of the season’s most talked about collections comes to the pages of  Vogue Japan in an expressive story by Paolo Roversi. Starring a trio of white-hot platinum blonde beauties and featuring several of the season’s most esoteric collections, the story provides an appealing roundup of spring’s detail oriented designs.  Maja Salamon, Ola Rudnicka and Sasha Luss feature in Roversi’s images wearing pattern heavy pieces selected by Nicoletta Santoro (New York: Management + Artists, Paris: Management + Artists) and sporting intense glares. The only thing more alluring than the girls are all those exquisite collection separates - CélinePradaMarniGivenchy and even a touch of fashion’s print master, Dries Van Noten.

CHLOE

It’s been a few seasons since Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helmed the Chloe campaign, but the duo doesn’t miss a beat.
