The magazine isn’t frou frou, it just taps into the kind of images that represent cool, effortlessly chic girls so well. Inside you’ll also find appealing new edits starring Bambi, Emma Balfour and new face Cassi. If you’re even more Aussie talent in this issue than usual, there is a good reason – this is Russh’s Homegrown issue and it focuses on all things fashionable rooted in Australia.

Russh’s Rebels

April 4th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

The Russh perspective is all about a certain kind of girl; youthful, instinctively cool and the type to wear her heart on her sleeve rather than a label. The April/May issue focuses on staying true to your passions while keeping it real and features a series of women who fit right in with the mag’s artsy-chic ethos. Jane Birkin, Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and actress Clémence Poesy could all be considered Russh girls and the insightful interviews of each are a real treat.

Editorially the issue takes its cues from the women who inspired it with a series of dreamy editorials that feel natural and unfussy. Whether it is Josefien Rodermans sipping a milkshake or Jess Gold lounging in the season’s knitwear, these stories look like they could be pulled from real life. Even the stark studio shoot with Jessica Miller, doesn’t feel forced or unnatural.

Russh Hour

February 1st, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Russh never fails to create a dreamy, feminine and oh so inviting vision of fashion and their latest issue is no exception to the rule. With a heavenly shot of Mirte Maas by Hugh Lippe adorning the cover and a series of ethereal editorials inside this is another of the month’s magazine must haves. Issue #44 focuses on “everlasting love” and the sentimental theme carries through all the stories. Whether it is Elle Muliarchyk capturing Elsa Sylvan through rose colored lenses or Imogen Morris-Clarke looking delicate in Stephen Ward‘s beauty story, each image is filled with a sweetness that is downright charming.

Russh wraps up the year with a beautiful look at laid back fashions and a host of the seasons model MVPs. The “Born to Be” issue embraces the individual, whether they’re wild or tame and provides a Russh take on the fashion extremes. Marique Schimmel graces the hippie chic cover by Nick Dorey and stars in the engaging fashion feature. Inside Marte Mei van Haaster and Monika Sawicka showcase the current trend for deconstructed denim in Amy Troost‘s denim story, while Bambi Northwood Blyth is a beauty come undone in Stephen Ward‘s images. Last but not least, Fresh face Anna Brewster is the picture of ethereal loveliness in Derek Henderson‘s black and white ‘Cloud Street’.

Happy Feet!

August 1st, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Tired of dour and downbeat editorials? Russh‘s September issue provides a welcome jolt of energy! Will Davidson‘s cheerful images of Aymeline Valade dancing and smiling her way around NYC’s streets are effortlessly beautiful. As always Stevie Dance‘s styling elevates the story, combining sheer dresses, tailored suiting and top hats to create a look that is light and modern with a touch of whimsy.
