Russh’s “Art of Fun” Combats Fall Woes

September 28th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Russh‘s latest October/November issue has the magazine conceptualizing an especially Australian ethos, looking all laid-back exploring “The Art of Fun”. Cover star Lara Stone takes readers on a retro-inspired joy ride evoking a certain muscle car cool, photographed by Emma Tempest and styled in the latest flame-embroidered, throwback threads by Verity Parker. Sam Hendel photographs Cate Underwood as a free-spirit, lush in an idyllic outdoors scene with a dash of glitter, while James Nelson lenses two stories: One where spontaneity finds Georgia Hilmer and Emma Oak in the spray of a hydrant, with half-on half-off fall styling by Ilona Hamer, and the other, a beauty editorial with team Jenny Kim and Laura Stiassni, who have Anya Lyagoshina looking glowing enough to combat any autumn woes. See the exclusive preview below and purchase it here.

RUSSH Goes Abroad

August 4th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

The always paradisal Russh Magazine relays their Aussie bliss for the rest of us in “The Global Issue”. A message that is gladly received, especially with the sublime, local muse Gemma Ward fronting the issue splendent in a pastel sundown – photographed by Stephen Ward. Prefacing the editorials, editor in chief Jess Blanch hones in on the issue’s message, “Today our universe seems bigger and more giant than ever and yet somehow we’re now all closer than we ever thought possible … Geography is irrelevant. ‘Home’, an adaptable notion. And suddenly we have the power to be everywhere and yet nowhere, at once.” Destinations abound and abroad, the unmistakable streets of Los Angeles serve as a tinsel backdrop for Blair Getz Mezibov‘s editorial with up-and-comer Chloe Wheatcroft. Or travel to the idyllic Swiss Alps and indulge in the beautiful Laura Kampman photographed by Rahel Weiss. This issue also features Russh’s first ever “Men’s Special” with 48 pages of men’s stories like Reuben Ramacher photographed as a man about town by Nick Hudson and styled by Bridie Gilbert. Finally, pristine is the key word for the beauty story with Katryn Kruger, photographed by Matthew Sprout and teamed by Dale Delaporte and Nina Park, all working finely tuned within the realm of shadows and contrast. The rest of the wanderlust inducing stories can be seen in The “Global” issue when it hits stands August 6th.

Bare Essentials

June 8th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For Russh magazine’s summer issue “Just As You Are” beauty is stripped down it its bare essentials: “Everyone agrees real beauty is the point where you decide to go with what you’ve got,” opens Editor in Chief Jess Blanch. Who better to encapsulate the mag’s motif than Sam Rollinson who naturally gleams on the cover simply photographed by Ward Ivan Rafik. Nastya Sten works gold and purple glitter paint ever so slightly in the beauty story also shot by Rafik with makeup artfully applied in shapes by Stevie Huynh with slick wettish hair by Brian Buenaventura. A second beauty story (this is the beauty issue after all) by James Nelson and Makeup artist Victoria Baron takes a more modest approach with simple rouge accents on lovely Eilika Meckbach. Have a look at the Models.com exclusive preview below and see the entire issue on stands June 11th.

Finding Utopia

April 6th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

“We may never live in perfect harmony. Utopia isn’t really ever found. But today, by believing in it, we just may be able to make the mundane sublime,” starts the Find Utopia issue of Russh #63. Sublime being a good word to describe the carefree content and rosy palettes. On the cover, mother of three and mega-model Vivien Solari is the image of serenity by Johan Sandberg (Stockholm: LUNDLUND, Paris: ArtList Paris, New York: ArtList NY) appearing perfectly blushed and ruddy by Kathy le Sant.  Stefan Heinrichs captures a wispy-haired Magdalena Jasek encapsulating the spirited attitude of springtime youth. For the lens of Emma Tempest (Jed Root), Helena Severin and Farez Brahmi get intimate as dusk approaches. In The Lost Paradise series James Nelson breathes new life into seventies psychedelia exploring in painted strokes of peachy pastels and violets against textured terrains.

Find your own Utopia April 9th when Russh Magazine #63 will be on stands!

The Pleasure Principal

December 11th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Pleasure is at the heart of Russh‘s latest issue. Every edition of the Aussie glossy is special, but issue 61 delves into the fantasies, desires and indulgences of Russh’s favorites and that makes for great content. Magdalena Frackowiak graces the cover by Ward Ivan Rafik (Paris: ArtList Paris, New York: ArtList NY) and lends her seductive touch to the minimalist yet sexy editorial. Inside the issue we’re taken on a series of dreamy trips, with Harry Crowder whisking Josephine Skriver away to sandy shores and Benjamin Vnuk (LUNDLUND) taking Kremi Otashliyska off the beaten path with an luxe hippie story filled with pattern and texture.
