Balmain explores the intimacy between siblings for their latest collection for Fall/Winter 2015. This time around Mario Sorrenti captures the connections between sister and brother model duos Armando and Fernando Cabral, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Erika and Joan Smalls, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner. There’s no rivalry here with the pairs giving each other a helping hand by applying lip-liner or providing a supporting rest. The familial love brings another meaning of power and strength to the fabulous Balmain Army that Olivier Rousteing has assembled.

The goth-girl mob is back with major attitude for the latest Alexander Wang campaign. Shot by longtime Wang collaborator Steven Klein, and styled by Karl Templer, the ad with creative direction by Pascal Dangin of KiDS Creative, features a moody flock of model and artistic muses — Anna Ewers, Binx Walton, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Isabella Emmack, Lexi Boling, Molly Bair, and Sarah Brannon — as well as singer Alice Glass and the Japanese dance duo AyaBambi, fresh off a Madonna video appearance. The fashionable clan effortlessly sulk in studded frocks and platform creepers aligned with perfected visages, courtesy of beauty team Anthony Turner and Mark Carrasquillo. This crew is not to be trifled with!

Alexander Wang’s Wild Ride

January 21st, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

The latest campaign for Alexander Wang is bright, colorful and filled with covetable clothes, but it works mainly because the images ring true. Is there any designer more likely to charter a party bus and rave across New York with a bevy of models?
Steven Klein (Art Partner) vibrant ads take the sneaker-centric spring collection and reimagine it as a rollicking good time complete with neon colors and glimpses of the Manhattan skyline peeking out from the bus’ open roof. Pascal Dangin‘s skillful art direction keeps the campaign’s LED imagery and flashing lights from ever seeming chaotic, while Karl Templer‘s styling keeps the focus firmly on those killer clothes. Models Sarah BrannonAnna EwersBinx WaltonDylan XueLexi Boling and Vanessa Moody are all along for the party, making each photo seem like an expression of youthful jubilance.

Olivier Rousteing‘s vision for Balmain has always been about powerful, provocative women so it seems natural to see his Spring/Summer campaign filled with supermodels. Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fontana, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and newcomer Crista Cober join forces to play video games and eat cheeseburgers in Mario Sorrenti‘s (Art Partner) action packed ads for Balmain. Sorrenti never fails to bring energy to his images and this time around he makes the usually elegant cast engage in a little combat. If kicking and screaming supers isn’t your idea of a good time fear not, the subtler images have the beauties duking it out via Nintendo rather than clawing each others eyes out. The art direction by Pascal Dangin adds another layer of enjoyment, with patterns and colors perfectly coordinating even as the punches are thrown.

Break the Internet

December 5th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Leave it to Alexander Wang and Steven Klein (Art Partner) to take us back to the days when a denim ad could cause an international incident. If fashion advertising has seemed tame in recent years, the sight of a stripped down Anna Ewers sporting nothing more than a pair of inky blue Wang jeans pooled around her ankles is sure to set things right. With a provocative perspective and fearless take on female sensuality, Klein creates instantly an instant classic of in your face advertising that is sure to be hotly debated.

McQueen Kate

January 27th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Kate Moss and the house of McQueen finally join forces with an arresting spring campaign by Steven Klein. Utilizing his signature surreal style, Klein creates a gritty world that fits beautifully with the collection’s warrior woman aesthetic. With Pascal Dangin of KiDS providing creative direction, provides a captivating showcase for Kate and the accompanying film adds another dimension to the story. With acid toned hair and glossy makeup the modeling vet is almost unrecognizable, but there’s no mistaking that face. Look closely at Klein’s shots and you’ll even see a miniature Kate – in the form of a pin covered voodoo doll.

Campaign Confidential

The vibrant SS14 collection was a departure for Celine but its buoyant energy is captured perfectly by Juergen Teller and Stephen Galloway. The Kandinsky-esque prints and primary colors come alive thanks to Galloway’s dance moves and elegant poses by Daria Werbowy andJulia Nobis

Bad girls do it well in Alexander Wang’s cheeky spring ads, Steven Klein shoots in a bathroom stall as Anna Ewers poses in one of Wang’s memorable parental advisory mesh tops. The gritty vibe is underscored by Karl Templer‘s styling and creative direction by Pascal Dangin.

Given that we’re right in the middle of awards season, Miu Miu’s actress fronted campaign seems especially timely. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shoot an array of rising stars including fashion favorites Lupita Nyong’o, Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen and Bella Heathcote

When you wear Tom Ford, all eyes are on you so it only seems fitting that the designer’s S/S 14 campaign centers around a crowdsurfing theme. Models Esther HeeschConrad Bromfield and Carlos Peters get carried away – literally – as Ford shoots them in glamorous pieces from his ready to wear, eyewear and accessories empire.
