Acne Celebrates

June 4th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

The 10th issue of influential style bible, Acne Paper is cause for celebration and the publication hosted an intimate gathering this week, attended by fashion luminaries like Olivier Zahm, and the boys of Proenza, as well as cover stars Mirte Maas and Natasa Vojnovic. With an exceptionally strong cover and a reputation for being on of the most cutting edge magazines on the scene right now, Acne certainly has reason to celebrate.

Fashion:

Since the world is in a frenzy with the opening of the new Twilight movie, here’s our gratuitous hunky boy shot of Teen Vogue cover star Taylor Lautner. Taylor wore Calvin Klein F/W 09 last night for the U.S. premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. (Wire Image photo courtesy of Calvin Klein)

Sophie Theallet wins the CFDA award. Congrats Sophie!

Alexander Wang who won the CFDA last year, won the 2009 Swiss Textile Award.

Nicola Formichetti lists the fashion credits in the new Lady Gaga video that he styled.

“Armani, who art in Hermes….” click here to see the fashionista’s prayer

Magazines and Photographers:

With Karl Lagerfeld and Olivier Zahm involved with the new Chanel magazine, expect lots of Baptiste Giabiconi and beautiful women.

Glen Luchford has a book!!

Ponyryder has a special interview with Randall Slavin who counts Charlize Theron, Eva Longoria, Joy Bryant, etc as subjects. Find out how he went from being a struggling actor to a successful photographer and why Charlize is a dream in front of the camera.

Miscellaneous:
Thank you Fashionista for pointing us towards Gawker’s Olivier Zahm post, “Olivier Zahm, either the best or worst human being in New York. Most funny: the peanut gallery of commenters.

We are showing our age but we cannot resist this post by Production about Love Boat and its fabulous fashion guests like the very handsome Halston, Geoffrey Beene, Bob Mackie and Gloria Vanderbilt.

SPEC Entertainment, the production company behind events for Tom Ford and Michael Kors is branching out into front of house PR.

Go to Style.com: to read about 1-Lorenzo Martone and Ryan Brown’s new boutique PR company just for models 2- Olivier Zahm‘s first photography show… expect breasts.

V Magazine Video! We love their special stop motion video featuring the house of Chanel‘s boots doing an adorable march across the page.

Francois Nars celebrates 15 years. Check out the Moment’s images of Francois and all his supporters includingMarc Jacobs, Grace Coddington and Patrick Demarchelier.

Model News:
We’ve always been big fans of Karmen Pedaru; her energy backstage is just ridiculously awesome. Read her interview with W about being a former Estonian soccer goalie and chocolate chip lover (specially made by close friend Karlie Kloss).

Speaking of Karlie Kloss…. Karlie is, in the words of Jean Paul Gaultier “inspires and is inspired”. Galliano says “She’s one of those girls, like a Naomi, like a Linda, like a Shalom.” That’s some major praise.

V Video 2!! Check out exclusive video with the amazing Dree Hemingway for her V shoot.

Lily Cole, Lady Gaga and American Vogue. Kind of genius!

Book them right now: the flame haired Sunniva with her new baby Liv. So adorable.

Coco Rocha has a new man and they make a pretty darn cute couple.

Nicola Haffmans, who looks like Amy Wesson morphed with Anna K, like THOSE Alexander McQueen shoes (yes the alien ones). Read her Ponyryder interview.

The Newton Ideal

August 28th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

In the new Purple, Olivier Zahm and Karl Lagerfeld presents a tribute to longtime KL friend, Helmut Newton by using Baptiste Giabiconi to represent the iconic Newton Woman. 14 pages of the seductive young Frenchman in black stiletto heels (“bought at Ernst Pigalle“) are unsettling, provocative and witty as hell. We love! Here’s a sneak peek.

Anna Wintour gets 60 Minutes, Carine Roitfeld gets CNN. Who do you think will get the coolest story out of the news crew following them around?

Now THIS we call front row, courtesy of Mr Olivier Zahm, you can’t get any closer than this.
