As fashion’s foremost purveyor of nomad chic, Hans Feurer‘s images are unmistakable. Though his body of work is diverse, the pictures that stand out most tend to feature a series of Feurer signatures; layered undone styling, exotic locations and bold tribal makeup. Look at his latest stories for Vogue Paris and Vogue Japan respectively and you’ll see all the trademarks of his aesthetic. VP’s Karmen Pedaru story goes for a harder edge, while his images of Constance Jablonski are all about highlighting her refined beauty, but both stories hinge on variations of the same idea. Who are the modern modeling icons? Tough question, but Antidote Magazine offers their take on iconic women with 8 new covers featuring models from different generations who have made a fashion impact. Shot by Jan Welters, with creative direction by Yann Weber, the images are elegant and evocative, as is Welter’s corresponding video. Who doesn’t love a great shot of a beautiful girl in a white gown?

The cast selection is sure to stir up a fair amount of debate; no one can argue that Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Malgosia Bela aren’t iconic, but do you think relative newcomers Saskia de Brauw and Lindsey Wixson are worthy of the title? We already know some people are lobbying for Natasha Poly on the icons list, but how do you feel about the inclusion of the stunning Bianca Balti & Aymeline Valade?

Is there a single more ubiquitous luxury item than the Givenchy couture nose rings? Sure those Prada car print skirts are everywhere and you can’t walk down the street without seeing a Celine luggage tote, but nothing is more noticeable than five pounds of metalwork dangling from a beautiful girl’s face.

Add to this that the Givenchy nose rings have all the elements of an editorial frontrunner; undeniable visual impact – check, expensive – check, hard to get your hands on – double check. There was absolutely no way editors could resist themselves and as such the rings have been showing up in every magazine imaginable for the past few months.

Are you still enjoying seeing these beautiful ornaments – or are you ready to move on to the next trend? We admit to experiencing a bit of Givenchy fatigue – considering that the pieces are always styled with Givenchy looks, which is nice but not exactly exciting. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see these paired with something else – maybe mix in one of those other overexposed editorial favorites, Balenciaga Darth Vader visors anyone?

How’s this for big time beauty inspiration – Vogue Paris features supermodel and brand new L’Oreal face Natasha Poly in a stunning cosmetics story shot by Mario Sorrenti Makeup maestro Karim Rahman creates a series of impressive looks that electrify. Going for vibrant color akin to the neon illuminations created by artists like Dan Flavin & James Turrell, Rahman piles on the brights going from sexy glossy red lips and purple eyes, an incredible ombre pastel look and finally a literal explosion of pigment across the face. Each look accentuated by Géraldine Saglio‘s pitch perfect styling that merges seamlessly with the makeup.

Now that the months of Dior speculation are over and Raf Simons is confirmed for the job, there is a lot to look forward to. Sure we will all miss the bombastic, over the top spectacle of John Galliano’s now legendary collections, but there is no doubt that the house is in capable hands with Simons.

Raf’s Dior debut doesn’t happen until July, but there are more than a few trends from Simons’ days at Jil Sander that we wouldn’t mind seeing on the runways again. Take a look at four Raf fashion statements that wouldn’t look out of place at Dior.

F/W 09 – SCULPTURAL GOWNS

Years before the Dior opportunity was even a prospect, Simons was already using couture techniques in his designs. We could easily see one of the graceful shapes from F/W 09 show resurfacing in his work for Dior.

F/W 11 – BOLD FLORALS

Though he’s associated with minimalism, Simons has never been print-phobic – he’s especially partial to floral patterns in his designs for men and women. Given how ladylike Dior’s image has been lately, it wouldn’t surprise us at all to see Raf show a few of those flowers come couture.

S/S 08 – TRANSPARENCY

Simply put, no one plays with transparency better than Raf does. Whether he’s using swaths of see through tulle, or resurrecting fringe from its country-western trappings, Raf is a master of showing skin with subtlety.

S/S 12 – RETRO MODERNISM

Though Dior has been led by a series of very different men in the years since Christian Dior’s death, each of his successors has been adept at translating the master’s celebrated New Look into something modern. If Simon’s last two collections for Sander showcase anything, it is his ability to cull from vintage source material, while keeping things current.

There are a lot of talented people on the scene, but it is rare to see a fresh photographer break through the glass ceiling. Let’s face it – most of the high profile work still goes to names like Testino / Lindbergh / Meisel, etc.  and while we love all those greats – charting the progress of newer talent can be riveting.  Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi are in the midst of an editorial moment right now, with beautiful work appearing in i-D Magazine, Vogue Japan, Vogue Germany and V Magazine.

The duo showcases a great deal of versatility within their work, but each image is marked by a certain off-kilter elegance. Whether it is China Machado carefully adding a Rick Owens hair comb to Shalom Harlow‘s up-do, or Natasha Poly posed like a debutante in seafoam Chanel, the pictures are always refined: every detail just so, not a hair out of place. Speaking of which, Danielle and Iango’s refined style is always enhanced by the genius hair stylings of their frequent collaborator Luigi Murenu.

Mulberry’s spring ads are the stuff of Tumblr dreams, Lindsey Wixson, Frida Gustavsson and a giant melting ice cream cone by Tim Walker? The sugar level is off the charts, but who can resist such a sweet treat?! Shot on location in Brighton with set design by  Andy Hillman and styling by Edward Enninful, the girlish ads are joyful and creative. Those cream colored Bayswater satchels and bright high heeled wedges are almost as tempting as the massive hard candies.

Steven Meisel takes three legendary supers and one outstanding newbie to create a classically minded campaign. Naomi Campbell, Kristen McMenamy, Karen Elson and Daphne Groeneveld join forces for a striking ad that brings to mind Avedon’s epic Versace ads from the 80s.

PROENZA SCHOULER

Natasha Poly as a modern pin up girl is a campaign concept we can get behind. Willy Vanderperre and Olivier Rizzo create an enticing series of images that capitalize on Ms. Poly’s natural allure and the appealing mix of pattern & texture found in Proenza’s spring collection. The clothes are front and center here and they look phenomenal: sign us up for a pair of those heels!

Akris is known for their appealing take on minimal fashions and the spring campaign takes that idea and runs with it. Karim Sadli shoots Daga Ziober in the backseat of a vintage car wearing Albert Kriemler’s gorgeous designs.
