Dressed to Kill

August 29th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Natasa Vojnovic‘s skill in front of the camera is legendary and she brings her all to the pages of Tush with a striking cover/editorial by Txema Yeste. Wearing menswear inspired pieces from 3.1 Phillip Lim, Salvatore Ferragamo and Stella McCartney, Natasa poses and preens in leather jackets and tailored suiting. Bernat Buscató‘s inventive styling gives Natasa plenty to work with wardrobe wise, but the attitude she brings to each shot is all her own.

And it begins…

January 14th, 2011 |Posted by Betty

Andrej Pejic by Andrew Weir for ACW.

Some of our favorite casting directors are in Europe and documenting their favorites. Andrew Weir’s Weir Diary has boy of the moment Andrej on it right now. Maurilio Carnino has some of his favorite faces as well on his MTC site.

F/W 11 began at Pitti Uomo in Florence. If you missed it, watch the Trussardi show on their website, in case you’re wondering who was that show opener, it’s the divine Rob Evans (screencapped above).

Take a peek at Dazed & Confused great backstage pics of the show, by Morgan O’Donovan.

Tommy Ton’s also there of course.

One of our favorite model agency bloggers is Ford NY’s Damien Neva who’s in Italy as we speak. Informative, witty, thoroughly detailed and timely, his blog posts are a pleasure. Expect more of his awesomeness from Europe.

Take a peek at Gareth Pugh’s F/W 11 Video by Ruth Hogben shown in Florence. MDC fave Natasa Vojnovic is her normal fierce self.

Catching Up With Resort

June 9th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Have you been keeping up with Resort? This season’s array of wearable yet chic clothes is a cut above the usual. With newer designers like Erin Fetherston and Rag & Bone joining the resort resort regulars like ODLR and Donna Karan, the clothes have gotten younger, fresher and much more exciting; have a look at some of our favorite pieces from the season so far and tell us which resort looks you’re coveting!

Rag & Bone

Fur cardigan, combat boots and a minidress; the combination sounds odd on paper, but mixed together they look flawless on Tayane Leão. The color scheme is also completely in line with the warm palate of mustards, oranges and siennas we’ve been seeing at all the shows.

Marc Jacobs Resort

We can’t help but wonder if Jamie Bochert was Marc’s muse for resort; she brings to life his frilly cocktail dresses and ballerina skirts and proves that edgy and girly can exist in one outfit.

Erin Fetherston

Straw hats are becoming a theme for resort, they showed up at Jason Wu and here at Erin where she finds a way to make the kitschy style seem natural, by balancing it with the feminine blouse and sky high platforms seen on Emily Wake.

Anna Sui Resort

Anna knows boho, season after season she incorporates some version of the look into her collection and for resort offers up a host of beautiful pattered dresses. Naturally, Chanel Iman looks divine in all of them.

ADAM

Adam offers up a different take on bohemian, considerably more grown up but still hippie. We love how this floral look on Natasa Vojnovic was paired with flat sandals, it just captures the ease of wear that resort is all about.

3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip drew inspiration from Bianca Jagger for his sophisticated cruise looks, which means the retro glamour is taken up a notch. White hose aside, Kim Noorda looks pitch perfect in Lim’s intricate LBD accented with a cream colored blazer.

Powdered & Painted

April 16th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Acne Paper refuses to rest on its laurels, with every issue the magazine becomes more interesting and well rounded. The cover of the latest issue leaves us speechless: Rianne Ten Haken, Mirte Maas and Natasa Vojnovic re-imagined in the style of a classical painting by Daniel Jackson. Perfection!

The Feminine Mystique

February 18th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

There is something about the way Mario Sorrenti creates a picture that just brings out the best in his subjects. In the latest issue of W, Sorrenti takes 18 of the most beautiful models and shoots them looking seductive and sensual: some of the pictures work better than others but he manages to capture the essence of each girl.

Pagan Poetry

August 20th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

There is nothing like a pleasant surprise to get the season started right. The September issue of V comes with a staggering special supplement that focuses on the cerebral beauties at Women & Supreme Management management. The lengthy portfolio by  Paul Rowland re-imagines 19 of the industry’s most captivating faces as pagans – complete with flowers, insects, slabs of serrated flesh and of course, blood. The end result is raw, hypnotic and about a thousand times more interesting than most of the covers we’ve seen this September. Seeing Alana Zimmer, Alla Kostromichova, Behati Prinsloo, Christina Kruse, Daiane Conterato, Darya Kurovska, Georgina Stojiljkovic, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Hannelore Knuts, Iris Strubegger, Isabeli Fontana, Meghan Collison, Mina Cvetkovic, Natasa Vojnovic, Ranya Mordanova, Rose Cordero, Suvi Koponen, Valentina Zeliaeva and Yulia Kharlapanova in this new light highlights not only the versatility of the girls but also the sheer reserves of talent that can be found at these two powerhouse agencies.
