The girl with the most NY shows (31) is especially clean and pristine on the cover of the new Deutsch.

Hey, any chance to post pictures of modeling legend, Kristen McNemany, I will take it. This photo is the exact reason why Calvin Klein will always be relevant. The embrace of the legendary (Kristen) with a modern day beauty (Doutzen) shows how the brand will always keep you guessing.

A BIG bits & Bytes: some news is old, some is new, catching people up from fashion week!

Modeling info:

Our incredible Wayne Sterling expounds on the meaning of walking the runways of today.

Craig Arend sits down with Storm’s Sarah Doukas who discovered a young 14 year old lass named Kate Moss.

Looking for the new Black “IT” girl are Elite Models and Essence Magazine.

Missy Rayder, naked and beautiful for V Magazine’s video.

Benetton‘s next campaign face.. it could be you!

Coco Rocha, we adore you! Here she talks, uncensored about the NY Times/Daily News “stories” on her being considered “fat”.

Speaking of Coco, Hilary Rhoda interviews Coco, on Fashion Week Daily.

Ponyryder had 3 stellar interviews with the wonderful Amanda Norgaard, Love magazine cover star Jeneil Williams and Prada opener and closer, Samantha Gradoville.

Arlenis Sosa for Latina Magazine at a party sponsored by Lancome (see pic below). Kind of a big deal as past covergirls have been Jennifer Lopez and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer. Arlenis talks about how black models need to stick together.

Male models should tremble. Zoolander 2 is in the works.

Another evil and unkind moment in the fashion industry. Frockwriter dissects the mess about Gemma Ward.

Photography:

How do you get started in fashion photography? Tips from the experts are right here.

For female photographers only, here is eye opening advice from A Photo Editor.

Fashionista talks to a Getty photographer.

Style.com shows that Trovata designer John Whitledge, takes a pretty mean picture as well… See his Fashion Week diary with Erin Wasson and Kirsten Dunst.

Fashion and miscellaneous:

LVMH-owned E Luxury is gone, only to be replaced by the Nowness. With that kind of backing, that website should be quite interesting.

One of our favorite casting directors, Daniel Peddle, was featured on the NY Times’ the Moment during Fashion Week (if you missed it!)

Also: if you missed from fashion week…. Incredible insights on Style.com from Cathy Horyn and Robert Duffy from Marc Jacobs on the state of the fashion industry.

Style.com‘s interview with Hedi Slimane. Does he go back to designing? Find out….

Vogue Italia, Vogue Black and Vogue Curvy. Yes, we wish they were one, but hey, at least the dialogue is starting. (The Cut via Jezebel).

Speaking of Vogue, Jezebel talks about how those cover lines are made up (edited out from the September issue). It’s pretty darn funny.

Fashion Week Daily has a deleted scene from the September Issue where Karl Lagerfeld separates us from them (my words not his). Another hilarous moment from Karl.

Alexa Yudina, Regina Feoktistova, Valeria Dmitrienko, Rose Cordero, Charlotte Di Calypso, Aminata Niaria, Hannah Holman, Yulia Lobova, Liu Wen, Melodie Dagault, Model Link and Christian Brylle star in a multi-faceted story that gives them all an opportunity to show their best. Alastair McKimms creative styling takes center stage as the cool cast shows off fall’s unique wares.

Noir City

August 10th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Greg Lotus transports us back to the glamour of the 1940s for Vogue Italia. The talented lensman shoots Tanya Dziahileva, Christina Carey and newcomer Janete Friedrich for a series of images that look like stills from a neo-Noir film. Each girl plays her part perfectly and the dramatic lighting, combined with the overarching sense of mystery makes for an especially intriguing tale.

If Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins in the iconic film The Blue Lagoon, had had a child, it would be Todd Hudson from Wilhelmina New York. The Imagist has more pics of this beautiful young man. (Image courtesy of Wilhelmina)

We love Imogen Morris-Clarke‘s photos of Paris exclusive for Ponyryder. Keep shooting, Imogen!

Greg Kadel‘s shots sent to us were too risque for Australian Vogue.. Look what they finally printed compared to what you first saw here.

The Right Stuff

July 3rd, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

The cover says it all – style and personality, the two factors a model needs to not just make it but to make a name for herself. This month’s Vogue Italia is dedicated to the one girl whose electric personality has invigorated the industry for nearly two decades. Kristen McMenamy shines on the cover in sheer black and those omnipresent Prada F/W thigh high boots. With a cover this intriguing we’re curious as to just what Kristen and Steven Meisel have in store for us inside.

Gentleman’s Club

July 2nd, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Campaign season isn’t just for the ladies. Modeling’s top boys are making waves in a slew of ads with sophisticated flair. Werner Schreyer looks like a million bucks for Hugo by Hugo Boss, photographed by Jean-Francois Carly. Cutting a dashing figure in black and white, Schreyer looks like he stepped out of a classic film.

For Tru Trussardi the perpetually sexy, Garrett Neff looks as appealing as ever. Clad in a simple black coat and pants Garrett strikes as sensual pose for Milan Vukmirovic and shows that he can be just as alluring all dressed up as he is stripped down.

Scene Stealers

July 2nd, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Campaign season is in full swing and with each passing day another new ad emerges. This season’s Bottega ads lack the moody feel of Larry Sultan‘s S/S series but when you have the dream team of Steven Meisel, Anna Jagodzinska and Eddie Klint (very Prada-esque lineup, no?) it’s hard to find fault. With the backstage motif and super luxe clothes glamour outweighs all else, though since it’s Bottega the look is always cultured rather than crass.

Bits and Bytes: Johnny by Bruce

May 15th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Polaroid of Johnny by Bruce Weber. pic courtesy of paul@palmeroinc.com

Agyness Deyn and Gabriel Aubry by Daniel Jackson, styled by Nicola Formichetti, Uniqlo Summer 09. Pics from WWD, for more pics see here.

———————————–

Fresh off the set of Bruce Weber and L’Uomo Vogue, Johnny is repped by Paul Palmero. Paul himself was the first male model to have 2 GQ covers, so he knows a bit about modeling.

Elettra Weidemann has a charity to build the first solar powered hospital in Africa.

More Walter Pfeiffer (who just signed with Art and Commerce)….. he’s interviewed by Interview!

Models, models, models in sunny Southern Europe. Lily Cole, Laetitia Casta, Milla Jovovich, Eva Herzigova on the red carpet in Cannes. Siri, Heidi, Charlotte, Liu, Denisa and Baptiste with Karl Lagerfeld in Venice for Chanel Cruise. (And of course backstage images here).

Coco Rocha in a charity fashion show, to support kids with cancer.

This is hilarious about Donatella Versace.

There can never be enough said about Avedon. Here are some more words to express how we feel from the Cut , Cathy Horyn and our favorite the always eloquent Mr James Tinnelly. Here are some preview pics of last night’s event.

Agyness Deyn will be in the new Uniqlo summer sport campaign with Gabriel Aubry and photographed by Daniel Jackson and styled by Nicola Formichetti.

Read JD’s interview with Catherine McNeil. It’s the funny and oh so real interview that only JD can get.

The Imagist muses on Chad White’s 2006 L’Uomo Vogue LA perfection by Steven Klein

For all you obsessive Pirelli watchers, here starts the speculation about the calendar. ThinkTerry Richardson, Catherine McNeil and more in Brazil

In Brazilian designer news, Alexandre Herchcovitch takes over as creative director of Rosa Cha.
